[IC] The Odd Job

Ana take a seat at an empty table in the bar. Shortly, the bar maid wanders over, she doesn't appear phased by the fresh blood on Ana's clothes. "Wha'd'ya' want?"

"A long, private bath. But for right now, I need a good breakfast. Dealing with a jackass makes me hungry."

"We got some mutton stew that pretty good."

"Sure, oh, and where can I find an apothecary? I should do something about these scratches."

The woman gives her directions to the local apothecary. "Just don't let them invite you downstairs." She adds with a wink, "Unless you're into that sort of thing."

Keria comes back with a bowl of stew and a key"Key unlocks the door round back should help deal with the mess". Now that Ana is fed she notices a group of 3 old men in the corner have put down their cards and whispering and occasionally looking in her direction.

Ana sighs. The old men don't seem threatening. Perhaps they are jackasses like Hrgack. Never assume her father always said. After catching one of them looking her way, she says, "Ask your questions." Then she draws a drink from her mug.

The old men glance at each other then back to her than at themselves then at Keria then to Ana then back at themselves before the short one in the middle Downs his flagon..."Is it true?

Ana nods. "If you're referring to a certain orc who recently died? Yes." She takes another drink. She stands and picks up the key, "Anything else?"

" A drink for this fine young lady... on my tab of course"

At the mention of the word tab Keria whirls around, grabbing a tankard and hurling it at the man"Your tab my friend is about a year overdue" the barmaid snarls l.

"Thanks for the thought. But I must make use of the bath." She steps out and heads around back of the tavern. There are a pair of doors but one is ajar and loudly sounds of cooks arguing in a kitchen. The other door is smaller and has a keyhole. The door is unlocked and Ana finds a large wooden tub half full of hot water waiting inside. Locking the door behind her she notices a smaller tub with a washboard on it apparently for clothes. She sheds her outer cloak and sets it on a hook. Her boots, belt, bow, and quivers follow, hung on hooks or set down near the washtub. She drops the key into one of her boots. Her shirt, pants, and small clothes are next, dropped into the wash tub to soak. She washes them in the washtub quickly, then hangs them on a line conveniently placed near the hearth. She sits down on a stool by the fire and gives her boots a bit of a scrub with a steel brush she finds by the fireplace. Finally, after putting her sword on the far side of the tub and the two handaxes in the tub, against either wall, she climbs into the tub and relaxes. There is what she hopes is soap by the side of the tub and once she is sure she slowly gets a few weeks of road grime and orc blood off of her.

After a while, the water starts to grow cold and she gets out of the tub. A kind of soft towel is nearby with which she dries off. Her clothes are dry enough to wear so she gets dressed. Retrieving the key from the boot, she unlocks the door, exits, locks the door and heads back into the tavern to return the key.

Round 0

Hrgach walked over to Turich lying in the street as the others walked off. “Always with the cleanup,” he muttered. He did a quick search of the bodies, pocketing anything of value. Then he retrieved another slat of lumber and dragged the bodies outside of town, dumping them into a ditch before heading back to rejoin the others.

“Best hope that doesn’t come back ta bite us in the ass,” the hobgoblin told the Human woman. He ordered an ale and settled back.

Ana returns looking cleaner than before, her hair is obviously still damp. She stands at the bar until Kiera is available. "Here's the key," she says. "Thanks. What do I owe you?"
