[IC] The Odd Job

"I guess we scout out the CAVE, some shortcut, before lowering the crates down by rope. I doubt the cart will be much use but we should at least try to get it down there." Ana suggests turning the cart sideways and looping the rope around it as an anchor. She ties off one end to the cart and lowers the other end into the cave.

"Any one else have rope? We can leave my rope for ease of climbing and use another rope for lowering the crates."

"But before that, who's going down and scouting. I recommend whoever can see in darkness. Or, Aloysuis, can you throw some light down there?"

Asha fishes some rope out of her pack. She picks up fist sized rock as she moves towards Ana. She passes the rope to woman and then lets the power granted to her by her father flow into the rock. The stone begins to glow like a torch and Asha drops the rock over the edge and into the crevasse.

"There you go. Hopefully that will help some. I can go down with you. I can see in the dark and can provide light to whomever accompanies me if needed."

Aloysius is eager to get on with it so with a swish, "lux", and a somersault of his wand, it's tip is glowing with a cool blue light and he sets off down the slope first, wand arm extended.

"Come on then", he says. "And the last one down be sure to pick up that stone".

As he descends, he can be heard muttering to Zeke something about "wasting resources" and "caving, now, like some sort of grubby miner". The words "father", "see me", and "so pleased" float up too.

Hrgach eyed the chasm in which the secret passage lay. It was going to be difficult getting the cart down there. Ana secured a rope to the cart and tossed it down the fifteen foot slope. She descended and lost her footing, taking a tumble after Galdar.

Hrgach grabbed the rope to follow them down. He made it down with no problem and reached down to haul the human woman up. “Watch that first step,” the hobgoblin taunted her before moving to the mouth of the passage, peering inside.

The slope ends in a 15ft corridor that stretches on for as far as the light.

The roof is low around 7ft. Graan and Gheedon are still at the top of the slope perhaps guarding the cargo.

“Should be able to fit the cart through there,” Hrgach noted. “Unless it narrows farther along, but this seems constructed, not natural, so it’s likely uniform for however long it goes,” he mused.
