D&D 5E (IC) Vault of the Dracolich (Infiltrators)

"ha! I *knew* it!"

Udit smiled - once again his pessimism had been proven correct.

"...now my stuff is full of darts"

Udit pulls back his bedroll, and examined the darts

OOC: should I roll something for that?

"So, uh... could we like, block the darts with a shield, or a stout plank or something? Or a backpack full of rocks? "

Torbin shrugs and relaxes his bow. Kneeling for a moment he digs out his blanket. Tbis he brings over and tosses over one of the globes, attempting to stay between it and the statue himself.

Squirrels are evil!

OOC: Between the statue and the orb would be in the line-of-fire. I assume you mean OUT of the line-of fire.

Torbin threw his blanket over the glow-orb on the archway that led to the treasure vault. The watching statue stared darts at the area of the archway - literally. Darts flew in a wide arc, spraying the archway. A few of them reached as far as the blanket (but didn't knock it off the orb). After firing a score of darts (or more, it was hard to tell) it seemed satisfied that it had hit its mark and stopped. It was still possible that another shadow passing through the archway might start it again (there was still the other orb, after all).

The darts scattered across the floor quickly disintegrated.

No way we can slip past that array of darts, Sesto said, grabbed Udit's bedroll and tossed it into the line of fire. Sesto expected the dragon would fire more darts at object entering the archway.
Not believing his eyes, Udit glared at Sesto. What? It's full of holes already. No point using my bedroll...

"We need to cover the other globe..." Torbin looks oddly at Sesto, and the unclasps his cloak and tosses it over the other orb, hoping it does the trick.

Squirrels are evil!

Udit repacks his stuff, gingerly handing the bedroll

"Uh guys, illusions?"

OOC: waiting to see what happens when the second orb is covered.

OOC2: did the statue react to his minor image?

The statue did not seem to react to the boxy illusion of crouching Udit. It fired again as the second glow-orb was covered by another blanket. The archway was dim now, and the scatterings of darts quickly disintegrated.

It was possible that the statue was now blinded to movement.
