Kurzon & Torbin

Kurzon slammed his shield into the undead arms that were flailing at him through the bars of the portcullis and gave himself the opportunity to back away.

Torbin could now see Kurzon's face, covered with blackened frost-bitten scratches. He fired arrows into the press of undead, trying to drive them back, but his arrows thumped into the dense, frozen meat without slowing the creature. The undead heaved the portcullis up, and the one that was pinned under got to it's feet and rushed into the prison, leaping on Drako with a fury, claws rending and tearing at the unfortunate warlock.

GM: Well, this just suddenly got more exciting. (BTW Kurzon can still make a dc13 Con save to have taken 4 instead of 9 damage from the dead Chillborn)

Udit turned to Auraia and gave her a fierce smile - she got it, she really did! They both momentarily turned to the last mercenary - but the undead suddenly burst through the portcullis and swarmed Draco.

"I, uh, gotta go" and Udit darted north.

Udit hated the undead. He hated fighting them - no blood to shed, hardly felt any pain... but he had learned a few tricks. They tended to focus too much on one target at a time, and they lacked those self-preserving instincts...

OOC: Move besides Draco and start hacking and stabbing! F29 or F28 if it's needed.

He started with a brutal chop at one undead's arm as it ignored him and focused on Draco.

attack roll with Slasher vs chillborn undead: 1D20+6 = [6]+6 = 12

sneak attack vs chill undead with Slasher, not sure if hit landed: 1D6+3+3D6 = [1]+3+[1, 4, 6] = 15

He followed with a nasty trust with Stabber right in the hip bone, trying to pop open the joint - a maneuver that would never had worked on the living but the lack of pain was an advantage here...

off hand attack with Stabber on chillborn undead: 1D20+6 = [11]+6 = 17

off hand attack , sneak attack damage only applies if first attack missed: 1D6+3D6 = [1]+[4, 4, 6] = 15

He hoped he wouldn't regret playing the hero...

Pyrus & Udit

Pyrus again fired his flames at one of the undead, but he was unprepared for how quick it would rush forward when the portcullis opened, and the flames burst on the stone wall where the undead had been only a moment before.

Udit rushed in to help Drako, his first swipe narrowly missing the undead as it attempted to pull Drako off of his feet. Udit followed it up with a mighty blow to the hip which cut to the creature's bone. Unfortunately, the undead's flesh was dense frozen meat, and the creature continued to rake at the warlock.

Suddenly another of the undead burst through the open portcullis and dove at Udit, slashing him across his forearm. His fingers felt numb and he was surprised to find he could still hold his sword. It raked at him again and he blocked with his good arm.

"NOT TODAY!" Yelled Udit as he kicked the undead away "....I have good boots"

OOC: Use the thief damage reduction reaction power to reduce one attack's damage by half (so from 7 to 4).

Sesto looks over his shoulder and can see the undead rushing forward. Still, he focuses his attention to the old scarred mercenary. We better stop these first so they don't manage to get help, Sesto yells out.
Focusing on another green crystal, Sesto sends a flash of light towards the veteran and swings the spectral mace soon after. The bolt of light wraps the veteran in dim light.

Sesto

Sesto sent a bolt of light at the experienced mercenary, which struck him hard and left him glowing brightly. He grunted and yelled up the stairs, "They're here! Let the others know!" while loading his crossbow and running up the stairs.

Sesto's spirit-mace bashed at him while he finished winding the heavy crank and he raised the crossbow determinedly and fired it at the cleric from the top of the stairs. The heavy quarrel lodged itself in one of Sesto's greaves; uncomfortable, but not life-threatening.

“argh!” Drako mumbled/screamed as the frozen creatures descended on him. Slashing at the creature in front of him, Drako began to regain his composer before quickly vanishing and reappears a stone’s throw away.

Drako

Drako stabs at the undead in front of him, piercing it through the eye, as it falls back toward the ground, he stabs the one fighting Udit, and then vanishes, appearing over near the iron cages.

The defeated creature falls to the floor, shattering into wisps of magical coldness that cover Udit's boots in a thick layer of ice, and scratch his legs with shards of sharp frost.

Another undead that had lingered near the store-room grate, confused by Udit's trickery, came through the portcullis and headed for Pyrus, going around the partly-frozen Udit as if he wasn't even there.

GM: Where did Drako get a magic rapier? Is he a hexblade? I think this is the first time you've used it!
