Ancalagon

Dusty Dragon
Udit, once again out of sight, heard the strange sound of Auraia's blade striking the dragon. He certainly saw Pyrus lobbing fire at it... and the crashing of bones was hard to miss. He smiled a fierce smile - twice now they had won again this bone dragon!

He stepped back into the open momentarily, drawing an arrow as he did so. He could see the mercenaries and cultist were gaping... and that Kurzon was dangerously surrounded. Time for a message.

OOC: move to a suitable location for the shot, cunning action to return to starting point

OOC2: I'm assuming that the mercenary that Kurzon attacked is still standing. If not, one of the sorcerous wolves is the alternate targed

bow shot vs merc fighting kurzon: 1D20+6 = [17]+6 = 23

It was a hard shot, but Udit had spend his childhood shooting at birds, frogs and sometimes brigands on the river.

Sneak attack shot vs merc fighting Kurzon: 1D6+3+3D6+2 = [2]+3+[4, 1, 5]+2 = 17

The arrow hit the merc in the midsection, and Udit yelled at the Beast and his men.

"Just get out of here, you, uh, bums! It's over!"

Legend
Kurzon & Udit

The mercenary guard walked over to Kurzon's body and poked it with his halberd, certain that the big half-orc was dead, mauled by the Dracolich - but Kurzon wasn't dead. In spite of grievous wounds, the determined paladin stabbed the mercenary with his sword and rose to his feet. The mercenary gasped and stepped back, lunging for real this time with his halberd. Kurzon stumbled forward, bashing the weapon aside with his sword.

An arrow from Udit's bow, flew over Kurzon's shoulder and struck the mercenary guard in the throat. The man gurgled and fell on his back, clutching at the fletchings while his halberd clattered to the ground beside him.

Kurzon appeared to be on his last legs, but a call from Sesto caused Lathander's light to slow the paladin's bleeding and he stepped forward, his fighting spirit renewed, at least for a moment. He faced Bardaby, the Beast, and a trembling cultist who looked like he was about to either throw-up, or run, or both. The Beast's bearded face was covered in fresh burn-scars and he was wearing a salve that oozed grotesquely.

It was obvious that the Beast had been seriously injured in his fight with Bob (and terribly burned by Pyrus). In fact, it appeared that he could barely stand without the aid of the cultist beside him. He was also short - Kurzon towered over him. These observations crossed Kurzon's mind very quickly as he stepped toward the mercenary captain. He felt no pity as he raised his sword, determined to end this fight.

Suddenly he was struck from behind and his vision blurred. One of the mercenaries was on him, hitting him over and over with a hand-axe, and the man didn't stop as he crumpled forward and everything went dark.

Merc3 vs Kurzon with Pack Tactics. Aah! TWO crits!?
Crit: 1D6 = [3] = 3
1D6 = [1] = 1
I guess the 2nd Crit damage doesn't matter because he's already at 0 HP. It does 2 failed death saves. Ouch.

Auraia saw Kurzon fall, and felt something tug inside her. She'd barely interacted with the Half Orc, but something in her screamed when the cowardly cultist attacked him from behind.

Wind swirled around her, Gale force winds erupted from her, flying straight at the Beast, through the Beast, and hitting his allies that where in the way, specifically the one that felled Kurzon.

OOC: Auraia moves up to the Beast, uses 5 psi points to use Wind Stream, creating a blast of air 30 ft long and 5 ft wide, lining up as many baddies as she can, but trying to hit the one that felled Kurzon. Anyone in the way gets hit. DC 11 Str save or take [roll0] Bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. Half damage on a successful save.

Her AC is 17, but is increased to 21 if she is hit and it would help.

Pyrus moves up to the steps after her sister, sending a beam of fire at the cultist holding the Beast up. "You wanna keep going? I can burn the other side of your face, if you want!"

OOC: DC 14 Dex save or take [roll1] fire damage.

Legend
Auraia & Drako

Auraia flew up the stairs, wind rushing around her. She sent a powerful gust through a mercenaries and a cultist, who covered their faces and began to push toward her, while she sent the strongest of the gale to the mercenary on top of Kurzon. She lifted the man off his feet and slammed him hard into the ground, cracking his skull on the tile floor.

The cultist reached for her, his hands crackling with necrotic magic, but she pushed him back with her winds. The mercenary managed to reach her, and scratched her arm with his sword, before he too, was pushed back by the wind.

Not far away from her, the man with the metal jaw loaded and fired his heavy crossbow at Sesto; the quarrel pounded into the cleric's shield. Drako flung eldritch force up at him, and battered him so badly that the big strange mercenary was forced to take cover up the entryway passage.

GM: I couldn't line-up the Beast AND the guy on Kurzon, so I went for the latter.

Legend
Pyrus & Bardaby

Pyrus moved up to the stairs following his sister. He sent a beam of fire at the cultist who was helping the Beast to stand. "You wanna keep going? he called to the mercenary commander, "I can burn the other side of your face, if you want!"

As if in example, the cult's hood burst into flames and the man let go of the Beast, yelling and trying to put it out. Bardaby took the weight on his injured leg, grimacing in pain, but he did not fall. Instead he patted the cultist on the shoulder, as if helping to put the fire out and said, "Thanks for the crutch, boy."

Then suddenly he had a knife, and he stabbed the cultist twice in the chest.

The young cultist fell to the ground and Bardaby turned to Pyrus and said, "Yeah, fine. You win. But for all our sakes, if we're gonna do this, every last one of these cult-guys has got to die. Boys! Leave off the adventurers. Kill the cultists. We're done here!"

Auraia smiles at the Beast's proclamation, turning to the last Adept. She swiped both her blades across his neck, determined to cut off his head.

OOC: Attack: [roll0] Damage: [roll1]
Bonus Action: Attack: [roll2] Damage: [roll3]

Seeing the fire-wolf, Pyrus prepares a blast at them, only instead of fire erupting from his hand, a beam of cold energy is sent instead.

OOC: The Energy Beam attack is whatever element the Mystic wants. In this case, it's cold. DC 14 Dex save or take [roll4] Cold Damage.

Legend
Auraia & Pyrus

Auraia moved to cut the cultists head off like she had the dracolich's, but the crazed zealot would have none of it - he grabbed her arm and sent necrotic energy into her - it was extremely painful.

Pyrus sent psychic beam at the last of the fiery wolf skeletons. The undead creature was busy trying to maul Sesto, and it did not even attempt to defend itself from Pyrus as the mystic stole all the heat from the creature; it's bones became brittle, and as the creature leaped for Sesto, it shattered on the cleric's shield, raining bone-shards on the stairs.
