"Gas, hm?" Silhouette shook her head. "I'm not so sure. It didn't dissipate like a gas normally would. It just went right back down again. Lets try something. Niles, I'm going to try to get whatever it is to happen again. When you see it, burn it with everything you've got."

She glanced over at him to make sure she wasn't in the direct line of fire, then moved up to the room. She cast a spell over herself to hopefully shield herself at least somewhat from the effect, then stepped inside.

(Casting Shock Shield to add 2 to my AC and moving 5' into the room)

Nile takes his hands, loosens his fingers then points them in the room, ensuring he is not going to aim them at his fellow seeker. rolling his shoulders he nods his head in readiness; smoke rises off his fingertips to show his readiness.

Armides isn't sure what he can do against a damaging cloud of smoke. This may be another of those things that he has to leave in the hands of others. Specifically, Niles. He studies the wizard but otherwise does nothing.

Niles looks on the floor to see if there is a pressure plate somewhere. Seeing none he reports his findings. "No pressure plate that I can see, just the holes. Tip toe through the poppy fields, then, huh?" "But no pressure, huh?" He continues to wait with baited breath.

Nelleon also delays his action, waiting to see what the effect of the spellcasting might be.

Some sort of mist quickly floats up from the floor. It attacks Cass (touch attack 26; 5 damage & 2 Con damage). We will pause here for any readied actions before the mist completes its action.

He turned to warn Niles and Silhouette not to fire into the room, but when the evidence pointed to his being a shade too late, he jerked away from his current position and flat-out ran across the room, toward the open doorway and the party. "HELLFIRE! WAIT, you damned fools!" A wheezing Cass rejoined the group a moment later--winded, his skin a funny puce color, and looking worse for the wear.[/section]

That is correct. Actually it decreases your max hit points. So, Cass normally has 16 hit point and 10 damage would put him at 6. The additional 4 damage from the Con damage puts him at 2. But with the Con loss he has 12 hit points (max) and with 10 damage that would put him at 2. Same result. It is just that should he heal completely without healing the Con damage he would be at 12 instead of 16.
