"I can't! Cass is in the way!" As soon as Cass is out of the way, Niles will burst with his flame attack, if it is still there.

Combat Round 1/2 Wrap Up

"Gas, hm?" Silhouette shook her head. "I'm not so sure. It didn't dissipate like a gas normally would. It just went right back down again. Lets try something. Niles, I'm going to try to get whatever it is to happen again. When you see it, burn it with everything you've got."
She glanced over at him to make sure she wasn't in the direct line of fire, then moved up to the room. She cast a spell over herself to hopefully shield herself at least somewhat from the effect, then stepped inside.

Niles looks on the floor to see if there is a pressure plate somewhere. Seeing none he reports his findings. "No pressure plate that I can see, just the holes. Tip toe through the poppy fields, then, huh?" "But no pressure, huh?" He continues to wait with baited breath.

Nelleon also delays his action, waiting to see what the effect of the spellcasting might be.

Armides isn't sure what he can do against a damaging cloud of smoke. This may be another of those things that he has to leave in the hands of others. Specifically, Niles. He studies the wizard but otherwise does nothing.
"Our success is in your hands, wizard," he says quietly.

Some sort of mist quickly floats up from the floor. It attacks Cass (touch attack 26; 5 damage & 2 Con damage). Then the mist quickly seeps back down into the floor.

Everyone is up. Post in any order when you can. I will sequence the posts by initiative order.

[sblock=OOC]I tried to move Cass on the map, but ditzie would not let me. Cass's intent is to double move (40') or run (60') in order to withdraw from the room with the mist. My hope was that he would be out of the room by the end of Round 2. I confess to being somewhat confused as to where we are on initiative rounds. I hope Cass doesn't suffer a THIRD "misting," but at this point I've reached "c'est la vie." I'm content to sit back, watch what happens, and pick up the pieces after the encounter is over. Please let me know when it's my turn.[/sblock]

Lord Nelleon swears under his breath. "So we would have singed Cass. That's what healings for..." He is perturbed, but does his best to control his temper at the lost opportunity.
 

Silhouette rubs her jaw and nods. "He's clearly hurt though...we don't want to lose him."

That would make us look bad.

"The easiest solution might be for you to trigger it yourself, Niles. Then there'll be no one in your way."
 

Lord Nelleon shakes his head in disagreement. "If he goes in and gets struck, he might lose his spell. I'll go in first and he can accompany me. I'll be fine with a little fire if he can't control himself, though I ask he use some discretion."

OOC: Ready to go in when Niles is. Nelleon will still take a swing at the mist, though it is likely not to do any good.
 

"If you go in and move to the side of the door, I will have a clear strait line to aim at the vapor and miss you.

We need to be careful as we are contractually bound to avoid ham to each other if I recall."
