Idea for a game

I was watching R.O.D. (Read or Die) and thought about trying to make a game like it. So my thought was to use Modern d20 and then allow the character's one and only one Mutants & Mastermind power, which they would sacrifice their skill points for (1 skill point per power point). They would have to buy power stunts using their general feats. I would allow them any of the advanced classes that are not from the Campaign Models book (thus no D&D magic or psionics).

Eh, it was just a thought.

That's not a bad idea. Most of the powers should port over pretty well, especially if you convert attack damage to d6s.

I might just give a flat 2 pp/level and let them keep their skill points, though; modern characters seem to get more use out of their skills than D&D characters, and I'd hate to take that away.

Instead of trying to merge 2 very different systems, you may want to look at something on the lines of Blood and Vigilance which is super powers written with d20 modern as a base.

But

You don't understand how much of an inveterate rules hack I am. I have never seen a set of rules that I like, never. And I am trying to slow down my buying of rulebooks (but then my anime buying has gone up, sigh). Even if I bought those rules I would still end up only taking bits and pieces from it and altering it to my own. It doesn't help that I have been able to apply Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra, and the other higher math courses (and they go pretty high as I am a Physicist) to my hobby. And I also generate ideas all the time for game worlds (not just game rules). I guess I am hopeless

But the extra 2 pp per level sounds like a good idea. Thanks.
