A few things:

I didn't pick gamer, even though I play more than enough game to be called a gamer, because I disapprove of the way gamers are becoming a subculture, instead of having games be a part of culture as a whole.

Every time I see the word "dork" I can't help but associate it with whale penis, it's a hold over from when I was in the navy and someone told me that as a joke.

It's, uh... not actually a joke. That really is the original meaning of the term. (Although I'm not sure where the "whale" element came from.)
