If someone at work sees your copy of [x-RPG product]...

If someone at work (a non-RPG person) sees your copy of a d20/RPG work (EG Mongoose's Encyclopedia Arcane: Elementalism--The Primordial Force) and askes you what it is, what do you say?

I just repeat the exact title of the book in a tone that says "If you have to ask, you'll never know."

Hope he knows what a roleplaying game is so I don't have to explain it to him.

If he doesn't know what it is, I'll tell him it's a theatre thing.

Usaully when I say its D&D some people have heard of it and then ask

"Isn't that the devil worshipping game?"

Which I replay

"Yup."

Then the person never bothers me again and I don't have to explain what RPG's are.

Yeah, that demon thing in the states must really make things easier.

Sigh, what we'd do for some religious nut damning our RPGs for
us. We would get widespread introduction of the genre so that
we wouldn't have to explain what it is all the time, and we'd
become 'edgy' at the same time. Win-win that allright.

The other night I was at my parents' house and the rush for the Harry Potter book story appeared on the news.

My dad started railing against the occult in society and telling me about "Remember when I told you to throw away those D&D books and then those kids started killing each other, remember that?"

A**hole.

He thinks I stopped gaming back in '88.

I think I'll tell him the truth on his death bed.

usually they make some comment like, "What in the Hell are you reading freak-boy?"

to which i reply, " (title of book)"

if they want me to give them any more info, they need to ask me politely.
