If you could try a RPG that ISN'T D&D...

My list is a bit different (maybe because I'm Norwegian):

  • Agone. A birthdaygift three years ago. Never gotten around to trying it out.
  • Prince Valiant. The old Storrytelling Game (long before WW) using coins for dice and telling tales of brave knights and Damsels in Distress.
  • Romanse. A Norwegian RPG about Romantic Love or more precisely the hunt for it. I would love to test the game in English. (Look here for the games homepage and here for the campaign log from a game I ran last fall. Both in Norwegian, sorry).

And I almost never decline a chanse to play Ars Magica or Amber,

I'd have to add these:

  • Castle Falkenstein - You've got the Fey, magic, steampunk, secret agents, Sherlock Holmes and a cybernetic Bismarck trying to conquer the world! What more could you want!
  • Ghostbusters - The progenitor of all the rules-lite systems out there, it's an amazingly solid game that still plays well today.
  • Savage Worlds - For when I still want some crunch but have better things to do with my time. One of the few games out there that includes "make the GM's life easy" as one of it's design goals.

If I could find a GM for them I'd love to play these either for the first time, or again.
Call of Cthulhu - Love the game, but I want someone else to run it this time.
Feng Shui
Paranoia - Haven't tried it, but keep hearing stories...
Tales from the Floating Vagabond. Have ( had ) the book. Almost ran a game. But it is truely, truely hilarious.

Having just finished with Spycraft (and not digging it), I'm either going to run:

A Savage Worlds-powered Stargate game or Unisystem (All Flesh/Terra Primate/Witchcraft) generic survival/horror game.

I'm chomping at the bit to run either one. Decisions, decisions. :)

I'd really like a serious playtest of some of the new rules I made up for Kathanaksaya. I'd like to play around with some of the ideas I have that shift the traditional structure of RPGs. I've done a little here and a little there, and I made up a Matrix-based scenario that was just testing how the mechanic played out in-game and how well new roleplayers could understand how it works.

I'd also like to run or play a BESM game based off of Inuyasha.

Right now I'm STing a Wraith game, and after looking over the nWoD rules, a lot of the things I've adjusted for ghosts would work better with that system.

Last, but certainly not least, I'm dying to play or run Dark Ages: Fae. It has the things I like about Changeling without the splat overload and nostalgia.

My non-D&D games I want to try.

Redline
Darwin's World 2
Car Wars
GURPS 4e (Probably in GURPS: Mars, or GURPS: Autoduel)
Rifts (I love the setting, but have been intimidated with the expansions)
Mechwarrior (I love the BattleTech universe)
Fading Suns
WarhammerRPG
Harn
Ars Magica
RuneRPG (Viking Mayhem!)
Savage Worlds (any setting)
Forbidden Kingdoms (its the first D20 pulp adventures)
Iron Lords of Jupiter (A Polyhedron mini-campaign)
Marvel Super Heroes (The only super heroes game I had fun with)

Here's my list.

Deadlands: Probably my all time favorite game. Great rule system (except for movement), great canon storyline, great fun.

Star Wars: either the original or D20.

Grimm: I'd love to play a one shot, but I don't think I could handle a campaign.

Buffy: I've heard great things

Unknow Armies: Only if the GM had time to make it worth while

Kult: Modern + Horror = Fun

Arcana Unearthed: Heard so much. wish I could find the time to read the book

The End: Wonky system, but great storyline. I'd love to play post rapture.

Rapture: See The End

Ones I would like to play:

Star Trek (CODA)
Spellslinger
Spycraft (I'm launching a new horror campaign next week that uses Spycraft and Grim Tales rules. However, I'm the GM.)
Call of Cthulhu
Babylon 5
d20 Future
Mutants & Masterminds
WEG d6 (the new one)
Paranoia XP

Feng Shui (I'd like to try it, sounds excellent).
7th Sea (Excellent game, highly recommend the roll and Keep version. I'd think by the sound of it anyone he likes Feng Shui would probably enjoy it).
Star Wars (though, I wouldn't mind trying the d20 ver, I'd like to break out my old d6 stuff once in awhile)
Elric/Stormbringer (wouldn't mind breaking this out again, lots of good memories and great sessions).
Shadowrun (I'd really like to get into again at some point)
Spycraft (never tried, but would like to someday)

There are probably others, but those are highest on my list.
