Ignoble Death by Ray of Frost!?!

To add something important... the reason why he uses ray of frost instead of his dagger is the touch attack. With ray of frost he can kill giants and dragons, with a dagger he would probably miss.

Easy way to avoid this would be Endure Elements IF you rule that the ray of frost damage has to cause damage. Endure Elements is a lvl 1 spell and make sure the party has a recurring villain whose only purpose is to sell Endure Elements potions to all other opponents... ;)

Xarlen, not true - I made an AT with caster level up to 18 before epic levels

Dude, you need atleast 2d6 sneak attack to enter the cass. You would ATLEAST have to be a 3rd level rogue, ergo a caster level of 17.

Until I saw this in play, I didn't really appreciate how unimportant a weapon's base damage was for a rogue -- or why weapon finesse was such an incredible feat for a rogue.

Yes, agreed. A rogue with a weapon that does a x3 or x4 critcal is really nice though. On a crit my 10th rogue does 4d6+12 + 5d6 sneak. Its rare that I get those extra 3d6's, but its nice

It does seem kind of lame that you can get sneak attack damage with a touch attack. If the attack doesn't even have to penetrate armor, how are you nailing a vital organ?
