Where's the problem?

The problem is that you need 7 ranks in Decipher Script. You have two levels in classes that give access to Decipher Script -- Rogue and Assassin.

Maximum ranks in a skill that you can only get for two levels is five.

You'd need at least two more levels in either Rogue or Assassin.

Other than that, it's an ingenious build. Nice try.

decifer script is an exclusive skill so you culd at most have 5 ranks it with that multiclass progression, and you need 7. Or 4 rogue levels.

But with Wiz 6/loremaster 2/Rog 1/Ass 1/AT 10

you could be in because loremaster has decifer script as a class skill.

It does seem kind of lame that you can get sneak attack damage with a touch attack. If the attack doesn't even have to penetrate armor, how are you nailing a vital organ?

The PCs IMC once captured a wererat after knocking it out. When it awoke, it struggled furiously to get away, shifting back and forth between forms and wriggling and so on. It wasn't until the sorcerer/rog PC put her hand on its forehead and let lose with a Sneak-Attack Ray of Frost that it was (forgive me) knocked out cold.

Ouch! Ouch! Ice cream headache!

In general, ray sneak-attacks are easy to miagine for me: a ray of frost that hits you in the forehead, or right over the heart, or in the crotch, is likely to hurt a lot worse than one that catches you on the elbow.

To add something important... the reason why he uses ray of frost instead of his dagger is the touch attack.

And with alchemist's fire or acid, he can still use a touch attack without even being an Arcane Trickster or worrying about Spell Resistance. This is not really a special Arcane Trickster or ray of frost issue.

Unless you're arguing that not penetrating armor implies not causing tissue damage, I don't see how this is any different from any other attack that, if it were not a sneak attack, would only cause a negligible amount of damage.

Think of him as throwing little icy throwing spikes into the lungs, throat, eyes, or groin of the enemy and it gets a little less ignoble.

and if you're worried about it being a touch attack, throw some high touch attack critters, like svirfneblin illusionist/monks. You'll have a high touch AC and SR. And it'll only add 1 to the CR of the creature.
