In-person Game cancelled. What do you play?

This happened to us recently. Someone cancelled on game day and we had nothing to do. Any suggestions for 3-4 people left holding the bag?

I play with my father, brother, and son when he is not at college. If one cancels we tend to not play. If I know the week before about something, we might play a 1-shot dungeon or play with the henchmen of the main group. I have made some 1-night adventures to play with a B-group of PCs mostly to play something D&D. If we are all there and someone cannot come last minute, we might play cribbage or other cards, but mostly BS for a while and then go home.

With my current group, we'd probably dig out an old 90s CCG. Not everyone threw their "dead" card games out when that boom ended, and quite a few of them were and are underappreciated gems. I'll happily play Shadowfist, the WotC Battletech CCG, or Over the Edge any day of week. Recently had the urge to play Rage again so one of the guys is digging his cards out of storage, and if we go forward to the early 2000s AEG's Warlord is still loads of fun. Some of the, ah, less good games are kind of a blast to play once in a while just to remind yourself why you don't play them more often. Remember Galactic Empires? I do.

If it wasn't a case of "cancel and go home", probably a board game (Settlers, Zombicide, D&D 4E board game, etc.) or pull out a deckbuilding, CCG or card game everyone knows - for me and mine it would be MtG (I have a handful of the prebuilt decks from days gone by), Lord of the Rings deckbuilding, Munchkin, Love Letter or our favorite, Bang!
