Star Wars:Interbellum

The Republic is dead! Across the galaxy, darkness spreads as
the EMPEROR PALPATINE extends his control.

Imperial forces, led by DARTH VADER, search for the surviving Jedi.
The ranks of the stormtroopers begin to swell as systems are occupied
and dissent is crushed. Despite this, many remain dedicated to the old ideals
of the Republic and attempt to deal with the new order.

Meanwhile, on the peaceful planet of Alderaan, a group of heroes
answer a call to action from Viceroy Organa to perform a mission of mercy......

Prologue

In the blackness of space high above the planet Coruscant, an Imperial Star
Destroyer takes up its station. Inside the ships great hangar bay
stormtroopers stand in formation. An officer stands at the formation's front,
stoically attempting to hide his fear as a small shuttle lands.

A gaunt man wearing an impeccable grey fleet uniform exits the shuttle. His
face bears a fierce expression, his sharp hawk- like eyes observing all around him.

The destroyer's captain strides forward to salute. "Lord Tarkin, this is a
surprise, we..we expected Lord Vader..."

Moff Tarkin raises his hand in a gesture of silence, and begins walking to the
lift at the other end of the bay. The captain quickly falls in behind.

"I understand Captain Renn," Tarkin replies, noting the captain's unease,
"but there has been a change of plans." The Moff's eyes concentrate
on the ranks of stormtroopers as he walks, "as of this moment
your command shall report to me."

Captain Renn nods, thoughts racing through his mind. "You needn't worry
Captain," Tarkin continues, "this is no reflection upon yourself. The Emperor
himself has requested Lord Vader's presence on Coruscant. His considerable
talents are required at other tasks."

"Yes..yes Lord Tarkin.." the Captain stammers.

"It is my considered opinion," Tarkin says, turning to view his inferior,
"that the Jedi Order is broken forever. They shall no longer threaten the
stability of the galaxy. However, Lord Vader is a thorough man."
The older man's tone is icy, clipped and precise. "But I believe now
is the time to look toward the future not the past."

Tarkin enters the lift, followed by Captain Renn. Just as the lift doors begin
to close, a cruel smile splits the Moff's lips.

"Of course Captain, there are always a few loose ends to tidy up."

Meanwhile....

The day breaks over the spaceport in Aldera, first city of Alderaan. Inside the main hold of a Corellian freighter parked in a corner landing pad, a group of diverse beings begin to gather.

Their focus is a beeping orange R4 astomech droid. Awaiting the last crew member to arrive, the droid stirs whirls and begins to emit a blue cone of light from its projection port. A blue holo figure of man, Senator Bail Organa forms. The image skips, stutters than begins to speak.

"Sirs. I know you all have been kept in the dark for weeks. But security must be maintained. "

The holo-figure skips again then reforms."For two years we have all watched the Empire grow, and seen its bitter fruits. Today we try to right some of the wrongs..today we begin resist."

"Your mission is to travel to Karpadia Station, a small planetoid just inside Hutt space. There make contact with a former Trade Federation diplomat, a Neimoidian going by the name of Oro Fellgan."

The holo image changes to show a tall Neimoidian dressed in red, an eyepatch over his left eye.

"Fellgan was a minor member of the Trade Federation control board, and has been on the run since the end of the war. Imperial bounty hunters are after him, no doubt out to finish the Emperors butchery of the Seperatist leadership."

"We've made contact with him through the Bothans. In exchange for transport and protection, he's agreed to provide information he promises will prove to be valuable."

"Fellgan frequents the pod racing track on Karpadia. He's desperate and scared, so we've devised a code to verify identities. To make contact, you must ask him about 'the pod racer Bendu Starkiller'. His correct security answer will be ' Starkiller retired last month' ".

"Once you get him off Karpadia, you are to deliver Fellgan to Dantooine for debriefing. This R4 unit has coded instructions on how to get in touch with the debriefers."

"Good luck, and may the Force be with you."

"The Bothans"...as if we were all just one big spy information network...humph...

"Well, this seems easy enough. If we can manage to not draw any attention to ourselves, getting this Fellgan guy should be a piece of cake."

Zane looks around at the others on the ship.

"You fellas mind if me and S'sheer take the ship out? Feel free to relax on the way."

Marius

"Yes, be the force with us," the only human in the team says.
"... it has to be a neimodian. They are all seem to look alike. I hope there is no real Starkiller who retired. Anyway, let's go." He nodds at his droid.

"Ironic statement: Yess master, those aliens all seems like the same. Humans on the other hand are diametrically different from one another." BT-23 says in his metallic voice, following Marius.

S'Sheer looks at the ship, not really listening at the hologram, he circles around the ship, takes a look inside the engine-exhaust, and finally comes back from the other side just as the Senator has finished his speech. He kicks at the landing-gear and listens to the metallic echo before finally climbing to be with the others in the hold. "Shh. Didn't fallss apart jusst yet. Maybe it can even fliess." He says with a heavy 'dosh accent. "Let'ss shee what it lookss in the cockpit." He says complementing Zane's statement. "I'll give you a warning before lift-off. You wantss to hold on to shomething perhapss."

"Statement: A most wonderful suggestion organic S'Sheer.
Question: What do you exactly suggest? A seat perhaps?"

BT-23 inquires.

"Is this our ship?!"

The voice is high and fluting and utterly transported with joy.

Ashlin comes pounding up from behind the rest of the group, looking a little flushed from her mad run across the docking bay and up the ramp. She's a female human whom, if one had to describe her in a single word, could best be referred to as "spritely." Her face, under her short cut mop of adorably ruffled brown hair, is young and round in the cheeks, giving her dimples when she smiles...which is most of the time. She has a light, slim build; agile and fragile. Her olive shipboard flightsuit is a little baggy on her, especially around the elbows and knees.

Ash looks around, taking the sight of everyone in, and the now-quiescent droid.

"Did I miss anything?"
