Iron Man Movie News

Were you people whining when Toby was picked for Peter Parker? He certainly does not look like the Peter of the recent comic books.
Actually, Tobey Macguire is the perfect actor to play the awkward Peter Parker and sharp-tongued Spider-Man. I praise the casting director for his or her choice. So I don't know what's your problem.

But Leonardo DiCaprio as Tony Stark, aka Iron Man? I admit, he was perfect as the young King of France and his twin brother in The Man in the Iron Mask, but not as a billionaire enterpreneur donning a heavy metal powered suit.

People who don't read my posts.

to quote myself:
But- he did well for the origin of Spiderman.

edit: To expand, in case it was I who was unclear: Toby does not look like the current incarnation of Spiderman in the baseline books. PP has grown up and looks like he is in his later twenties/early thirties.

But, for the origin of Spiderman, he did well. He fits the roll.

I was comparing that to the people thinking Iron Man should be older.

Well, Tony Stark should look older. Leo looks like he's the prime candidate for undercover narcotic cops working in high school. In fact, 21 Jumpstreet comes to mind. :p

Hell, he may be in the same age bracket as Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, but at least they look older.

I'm sorry, but he just does not have the face of a billionaire enterpreneur in the same range as DC Comics' Bruce Wayne, even if you pencilled in a goatee on Leo.

Is it my imagination, or is DiCaprio linked to every film when it's announced. I've read he's supposed to star as Alexander The Great, too.

I'm not really a fan of Leo, but I will give him some credit for having more brains than many celebrites; He turned down the role of Robin in Batman & Robin when he read the script.

I don't think he should be Iron Man, though. Way too young looking. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out that Matt Damon ends up in the role since his best bud Affleck has done so well with DD.

BTW, I've heard that Black Panther may finally be made and without Wesley Snipes, who's been attached to the project for 10 yrs or so. I've heard the name of another actor who may be in it, but I can't think of who it is. Anyone know?

LOL! Come to think of it, Leo deCaprio was originally rumored to have landed the part of Spider-man back in 2001 or so!

Somewhere in the vastness of the Internet, a single computer geek is laughing his fool head off, by so many people believing that Leo de Caprio has landed a role in every large-budget picture since Titanic... :D

Darn. Wesley Snipes could have made one heck of a Black Panther. The combination of regality and athleticism is a role he would have been born to play.

DiCaprio as Iron Man???

Yeah... and lets get some of them Revenge Of The Nerds actors to play the villains while we're at it...

I love the trend of comic book movies coming out. Having been a fan of comics for decades, I love that they are finally able to make some GOOD comic based movies. So hearing about any possible comic based movie gets my juices flowing so to speak.

But if you are going to make a movie about a guy in an armored super suit, make a movie about X-O Manowar! THAT would be an awesome movie! I still remember the first description I heard of that comic: "Take Conan the barbarian and put him inside Iron Man's armor." What a cool concept! Anybody else remember that comic and think it would be a decent movie?
