Anybody else remember that comic and think it would be a decent movie?

To each his own. It might not be the BEST movie in the world, but I'd rather see a movie for X-O than Iron Man. But then again, I'm WEIRD.

A few years back I remember Tom Cruise trying to option Iron Man for a movie, as he was a huge fan. I still think he would make a good Tony Stark.

Especially if they want to show the man in action outside his suit.

The villain for the movie would HAVE to be the Mandarin, but they'd probably make him North Korean or something.

Unfortunately I suspect that they'd do Justin Hammer...would make for a boring movie IMO. The BBEG needs to be able to stand toe to toe with the hero for it to really click with me. The frail manipulator doesn't work in the movies, Unbreakable notwithstanding.

When XO was taken over by Mark Waid for that 6 or 8 issue run it was great.

I never liked Conan-in-a-Can though.

I predicted we'd see this movie (Marvel heroes are the thing to do now), but Leo??? Ye gods, that along would be enough to sink that flick before it happened. Only the fact that a lot of first-choices don't turn out that way by the time the movie is produced gives me hope.

Oh come on slap a big Snidley Whiplash mustache on him put a bottle of booze in one hand and send him out as Iron Man, he'd be perfect, well if perfect means completly akward looking and poorly cast. Use Jonathan Frakes from Next Generation (probably would work much much cheaper than DeCaprio) and put him up against Crimson Dynamo or Titanium Man, do a cold war type theme and let them duke it out like crazy. Put the saved money into the effects and wow the crap out of the audience.
