Pen and Inkbottle of (school of magic)

The item is only used by wizards. When writting spells in gained by a new level the Pen allows the wizard to write an extra spell in his spellbook of the school of magic for free. Also any spells written in at other times cost 25% less per spell. The inkbottle never runs out of ink.

Caster Level 13th. Cost? 4000 GP? maybe. Prereq. Limited Wish, Wish or Miracle. Or maybe something else

Anything like this that I can compare costs that anyone can think of? Or is there an item like this already out there.

Hmmm...an interesting idea...

I'd suggest starting with a Boccob's Blessed Book. It allows spells to be scribed in it for free, up to 45 in a book.

The extra free spell per level is nice, but I think most wizards would be more interested in the cheaper generic scribing...

You gotta figure it's less of a discount (25% down from 100%) but that it works on an infinite number of spells (up from 45).

Overall it's probably on the same order of usefulness, and should be similarly priced.
