Items that add to Caster level?

What items or spells (preferably spells that last a while) are out there to raise your caster level?


I think their is an orange ioun stone from somewhere. (+1) (?)
The Create Magic Tattoo Spell can raise it. (+2?) (FRCS)
Necklace of Prayer Beads Karma (+4) (DMG)
Circle Magic can raise it temporarily (FRCS)
I vaguely remember a anhk from somewhere. (+?) (?)

Anything else I'm missing, or know the sources/ correct values of the above?

I know the ioun stone is in the 3.5 DMG. It says +1 caster level. I'm not sure if this means you are effectively one caster level higher, complete with spells and whatnot or if it only affects your caster level for determining spell effects though.

I have no clue about the others.

Items:
Ank of Ascension is +4 (RoF)
Terran Brandy is +2 (BoVD) for d20+20 minutes

AFAIK, it only affects caster level in regards to spell effects, SR, things like that.
 

There are also optional material components in both BoVD and BoEd that raise caster level for one [Good] or [Evil] spell only.

Graz'zt is right. Your effective caster level is higher, your class level (which determines spells per day, etc.) is the same.
 

Glad this thread came up actually. Gotta go into the NG City of Brass manuscript and clarify a magic item or two that adjusts caster level. Make sure it specifically says it only affects spell effects, SR, etc. That way when the book is released people won't have questions about the item(s). :D
 

I was going to start a thread with this exact topic. I am building a shadovar arcanist (FRCS - city of shade) who works for Hadrune. His current objectives are to learn about the dalelands and also to infiltrate Myth Drannor and assess the threat of the phaerimm there.

So far, the only magic items that I could find that increase arcane caster level are the ioun stone and the magic tatoo - and only the ion stone is appropriate for a shadovar. The question I have is: do multiple orange ioun stones stack? The bonus is not named (unlike the bead of karma) and is extremely expensive 30K gp.
 

By the RAW they should not stack, because even unnamed bonuses from he same source do no stack.

However, I have seen places where they are allowed to stack (Exodus Arena in my sig for one). It has been powerful because of the amount of money an epic character gets. In a lower level game, the 30k price tag makes it harder to justify loading up with 4-6 of these things.
 

If they dont stack then they should be reduced in price. 30k is a really hefty price tag for half of a feat ;) It is slightly better than that I know, but most of the time it will give an extra d6 damage at best, penetrate SR by one more point, increase duration by a round or a minute, or something similar.

It is very, very nice, but worth 30k if they dont stack? debatable, and it has been ;)
 

It also is slotless (doubles the price). So you're really looking at a base of 15,000gp for extra damage, penetration, duration, dispel resistance, dispel capability range, area of effect, etc. It doesn't look as expensive when viewe from that angle.
