I have a Ranger/cleric who uses a pick(mw), a Large wooden shield, leather armour, studded leather +1 and a sling. I was thinking of enchanting the pick, Thundering first then Undeadbane then holy. I was wondering if this was wise? My character is an undead hunter, so what else can I enchant my "Stuff" with???

Check out these armor/shield enhancements: Undead Disruption, Undead Controlling, Sacred. All of them can be applied to either a shield or armor, your choice. I wish I could tell you what books they're in, but I honestly can't remember. I think they are in the DMG and DotF. Hope that helps.

For undead, I'd say flaming. Thundering is right out; last I checked, skeletons can't go deaf (but I may be wrong). Also, mummies are vulnerable to fire. As an added plus, your "torch" never goes out spookily when you close the mansion door :p

Disruption would have been nice, but your pick can't take that. But why would an undead hunter have a piercing weapon whose strength is its critical, something undead are immune to, as apposed to bludgeoning, something skeletons are vulnerable (okay, they take normal damage) to?

That was, quite possibly, the longest complete sentence I have ever typed. :p

Beacuse it is the "Vibrations" That harm you, and If I land a Crit, It is a possible 1d6+3d8+2d6+2d6(Undead) or 4d6+3d8+2d6(Alive)

But a warhammer is so much more useful.

1d8/x3 (bludgeoning) as opposed to 1d6/x4 (piercing).

If I were to select a weapon for a undead hunter I would choose the Warhammer any day.

Or better still is to loose the shield to get a two-handed weapon such as a Maul (1d10/x3, bludgeoning) or a Heavy Flail (1d10/19-20 x3, bludgeoning) since most undeads attack with touch attacks the shield isn't of much use anyway.

That's just it, you CAN'T land a crit against undead. Thundering will NEVER come into effect against something that you cannot crit. It doesn't matter if it's sonic damage. Read the description, it says 'when you deliver a critical hit...'. And you will never deliver a crit against undead, hence no thundering damage. It's just like icy or flame burst, which would also never work against undead, save the +1d6 elemental damage that goes with every normal hit, not just criticals. If the pick is a must, go with Holy first, then Bane, but only if you are really fighting a lot of undead. Otherwise, just enhance the bonus so that it is more effective against other creatures besides undead. Oh, and Ghost Touch would be VERY useful.

For undead, defense is better the offense. Sure, it's nice to destroy them fast but many have wierd effects when they hit you like paralyze or level drain. I'd increase your AC first. Grab that feat in MotW that allows you to use Favored enemy Undead and get better at turning.

As for weapons I'd go with Disruption (but I'd try to get a better version). Holy is good, too.

Which errata would that be? It is not in the DMG errata!

EDIT: It is not in the D&D FAQ, either.
