Journeyman base class in Dungeonscape?

Hi there all,

Although I wrote the chapter with this class in it, I have come to learn that is has gone through significant revision. Alas, I cannot say much about it either way. I suppose I could share the basic idea. My idea for the class was to create a character who could go it alone, with a lot of abilities to boost itself, instead of others (like a bard) for a limited period of time each day. A jack of all trades type... the perfect PC for a group that has a missing player problem.

Hi!!

Is it a spellcasting class? Or are the abilities just specail abilities it gets?

I'm hoping it's special abilities. I'm getting a tad tired of spellcasting. :p

Razz,

So...you like base classes eh? ;)

Psion,

They got better support in Complete Scoundrel? Sweet! (Well as a ninja loving man I'm glad. Scout meh. I think you and I can agree, Green Ronin's Scout was a little better.)

Don't mind the ninja, just massively prefer the one in Legends of the Samurai. It's got kuji-kuri! (I may yet decide to keep using it, and see if the Complete Scoundrel stalker feats and be retooled to work for it.)

Actually, I don't use the Green Ronin scout, either. I use the ranger add ons in Wildscape; didn't see a need for a scout class.

As for those who dislike new base classes, I can certainly see your point. We try to give them coverage in Dragon whenever possible, but there just seems to be too many and we only recieve querries on a select few of them. Alas, this new one was part of the outline I was given for the book.. so in it went.

I hope everyone enjoys the book. I am very excited to see it.

Is the newly revised Journeyman better than what you envisioned, worse, or equal but simply different than what you had in mind?

Of course! But only if they'll receive regular support like I see the Warlock is getting lately. (not that I dislike the Warlock material, I enjoy the class and have a player that is fond of it, but there's other classes that need just as much support, too)

Psion,

Who does Legends of the Samurai and how close is it to being able to use Naruto-like ninja skills? ;)

Wildscape eh? Well at least you chose a company I know and trust.

Razz,

I was being sarcastic. ;) But you are right, it would be nice to have more than Dragon magazine supporting those base classes.

Psion,

Eh it's just really tougher wizardry at times. Especially when they start bring back the dead via zombification.

RPG objects eh. Well I check out Drivethrough then. (I still need to get that one about fox spirits...)

I can't really say. Partially because of my NDA and partially because I have not seen the finished version.
