TSR Just when you thought it was all over.... now there’s a fourth TSR!

In the story that will never end, after having this week turned itself into Wonderfilled, Inc, and deleted its Twitter account, TSR is BACK AGAIN! Like again, again, again, again. Complete with old-school logo! And Michael appears to actually exist!

Michael K. Hovermale says in a press release that an unnamed individual (I’m guessing Stephen Dinehart) apparently ran all the social media accounts for TSR, Dungeon Hobby Shop Museum, Ernie Gygax, Justin LaNasa, and Giantlands. He goes on to say that this person has been replaced, and that all posts on those social media accounts are "invalid". There's no mention of Stephen Dinehart's social media accounts though.

Dinehart has left TSR3, taking Giantlands with him. Given that Star Frontiers mentions have been quietly removed a week or so ago, that would leave TSR3.5 without any roleplaying game products, as far as I can tell.

The existing (TSR3} website still says it's WONDERFILED (sic), Inc. However there’s now a NEW one at TSR Hobbies. We’ll call that TSR3.5 for now. I’m struggling to distinguish TSRs from tribbles at this point. They just keep on coming!

One of the reasons they freaked out so much is that the pushback they expected from the "woke" contingent that they deride ALSO came from the old school crowd except for the usual suspects who we've already tried to keep isolated from our old school games.

In one of life's weird ironies, they are actually calling for safe spaces for themselves because they are claiming the OSR is being taken over by the "woke".

Yeah, it makes no sense to me either.

Silver lining to all of this mess, is that while my opinion of Ernie Gygax and Jim Ward has plummeted . . . I've found a new appreciation of Tim Kask!!!

The difference between Tim's "Your sexual identity or preferences don't matter to me at the game table at all" and Ernie's "Your sexual identity or preferences don't matter to me at the game table" is for Tim, it truly doesn't matter. Included or not, represented in the game or not. Who cares. Play what you want and I'll treat everyone the same. But with Ernie (and many others), it's codespeak for "I don't want to acknowledge any of it, or that it even exists. Keep it away from me."

If you don't have a problem role-playing out orgies to earn XP by spending your treasure on them (yes, an actual Dragon article), but the minute an NPC or player is LGBTQ in the game it suddenly becomes political for you, then it's pretty clear what's really going on.

But to a lot of under-represented peoples and groups, that lack of representation is like a dagger to the heart. It hurts them to not see themselves in a movie or book or whatever. People matter and representation matters, and being told "I don't hate or discriminate against you, but I won't represent you" is almost as bad as what the haters do and say.

Tim has never said he won't represent them. He's saying if someone wants to represent them at his table, he's fine because it doesn't matter to him. Tim is very much not against representation to the best of what I can tell, and has no issues with LGBTQ representation in the games. It's Ernie and co that are saying those types of statements.
