He gang it is me again. This will be the last game I start, but this will not be a full campaign, just an old man wanting to go back and play something from the past. If it goes well then when it is over I may start another 5e campaign or better yet take these characters someplace special. Like the Tomb of Horrors (from Tales from the Yawning Portal).

Character Gene will be special as I wish to keep my record of doing things the odd way at a perfect 100% LOL

Feature: Area Expertise - While in your native terrain (Wood of Sharp Teeth) you and the group you are guiding cannot become lost. While in a similar type of terrain (forest), you and the group are harder to ambush. The DM will decide on how this effects play based on the situation and who or what is trying to ambush you.

Hmmm, Tempted. Though it might be one game too many, so I'll see how much interest you get.

I'm thinking either Eldritch Knight or Battle Master: I've not had a chance to get either of those going in a character.

EDIT: I might use This guy

Magen looks good to go. Is there any changes to his Background that you think would make him more interesting?? The retainers are nice, colorful, and would be a great RP tool, I was thinking more of the skill choices/proficiency changes you might make.

I’ll have a look over him today and consider the other characters that I’m thinking. But I think background, skill and proficiency changes (if any) will be dependant on the game you’re starting.

Is the starting level for your game 1st or 3rd?

Let me give it some thought. I was actually thinking about creating a "simple" character, like Fighter/Champion. And all the race seem able to take that...

I'm interested. But I need some more info.
*What lv are we starting at?
*Other than what type of adventure is this? You don't need to spoil it, just some intro snippet so that I can make further decisions.
*Do the characters already know/know of each other? Or doesn't it matter?

Alignment question:
No Neutral & no Chaotic-Evil?
OR
No Neutral-Evil & no Chaotic-Evil?

Sorry to be keeping the game and the starting level a tight secret, I wished to gain some players interested in their characters over what they may or may not encounter.

This being close to a very old school scenario it will have a 70/30 split on Combat/RP (think that was how most D&D games were). But I leave most of that up to the players. Meaning if you make a slightly more RP/Detective character than I will give you your time to shine during the game.

So to try and answer some questions:
1) You will not be starting at 1st level, so you can say in your background that you have a few adventures under your belt.
2) Adventure wise I want to steer clear of kobolds, gnolls, and orcs. Thinking I want to throw some harpies, minotaurs, and trolls into the mix. This will be a game where I will be using some oddball monsters to see how they play.
3) I will leave who each character knows up to all of you. Please discuss options/roles/and how the heroes met (one character or them all) among yourselves. I will get everyone together or place the already assembled group into the adventure during the opening post. To keep things easy we will be in the Forgotten Realms setting.
4) The second one. No Neutral Evil or Chaotic Evil alignments plz.

Did anyone notice the race/classes kind of coincide with AD&D 1e????

The higher the better TBH, I get to start a lot of adventures but not finish all of them.

I did, yes :p You seem to be keen on old school stuff at the moment

Interest Check (OPEN to ALL)

I did!

I’m interested, tentatively. No idea what character to make, though a pure wizard might be something new for me. Or a Rogue, I love rogues. Also, Lawful Evil would be interesting. I haven’t done one of those, yet.

I’ll think about it.

Human Variant ok?
