Klingon forehead discrepancy to finally be addressed!

*Sighs*

Must send Klingon Strike Team to intercept the tape and "terminate" anyone who tries exposed our secret.

Stupid "hew-mons" and their curiosity.

To me it is just a gimmick to try and get viewers back to the show, however they answer the question. Will it make everyone happy? No. Will it end the debate? No.

Side note: really expected more forehead jokes by this time. ;)

Wow...this thread is headed in the wrong direction.

Personally I think they should simply avoid the topic and chalk it up differing budgets among the different shows (as well as technology at the time). It doesn't surprise me however, that some of the more rabid fans want an "in-show" explanation. I think sometimes the more obsessive fans hurt the show as much as anything else.

That's what they did during DS9 in "Trials and Tribulations" essentially; they pretty much said "We're not touching this with a 10-foot pole".
I know. It was lil' joke by the DS9 writers.

Of course, too many fans took it the wrong way.

And that is one of the biggest issues with ST these days, the fans. ST is no longer good sci-fi but poor or good Star Trek.

You're blaming the fans? It's a good thing you're not in any way connected to the franchise.

I would point a finger of blame towards the more vocal rabid fans of the show. Although this in no way absolves the producers and paramount for their lackluster handling of the franchise since DS9.

Voyager..BAH!

Next Gen movies...meh (with an excpetion for First Contact which gets a nod and Insurrection which gets a BAH!)

Enterprise...meh.

Most of the above I would attribute to the producers rather than the fans, but...

I don't think the Klingon-head-thing will get a satisfactory explanation and kind of wish they would leave it alone. I think the need to answer this "question" is being pushed by vocal fans who seem to be unable to accept the fact that TOS didn't have the budget or the means by which to exactly create Roddenberry's vision at the time. I feel any explanation is just going to come out looking awkward and lame, which will just further hurt the show.

Just a few of my thoughts...

Not really blaming them but as myrdden said and because there is bending/focus of story and plots to fan favorites. I think this is why ST has had so many lackluster episodes. While it is good to support your fans, you have to keep them and make sure you get new ones, it is not enough that it is good ST but good sci-fi, good Star Trek but bad sci-fi does not get you new fans. ;)

Do we really have any evidence that the question is being "pushed" by anyone at all? Having an interesting answer might be a selling point to a long-time fan, so they might use and advertise it. But that doesn't mean anyone's pushing the question.
