The whole Klingon-head-thing has been discussed/debated/hypothesised/ranted/fanboyed quite a bit on some of the ST messageboards with various degrees of rationality. Each one though did have a fairly vocal group (minority, perhaps...can't really say) declaring that the head-thing was an issue that needed to be cleared up to maintain consitency in the show.
But it takes out all the mysteries that I like about the Klingons. I mean, let the fans debate about it until I am dead. I still prefer Worf's answer in
DS9, "We don't talk about it among outsiders." It's about gratuitous as having Ferengi appearing on
ENTERPRISE in a near-encounter scene.

I'll agree that an answer could be quite interesting for long-time fans of the show (and quite frankly I feel that Enterprise, at its core, really is geared towards long-time fans). I just think that going this direction will end up with another mediochre episode or two and not be all that satisfying. I could be wrong though - afterall I thought the introduction of the Borg was an inane idea, but the actual episode wasn't too bad. In fact I though it was one of the best for that season.
Speaking as a longtime fan,
ENTERPRISE have never been geared toward me for the past three seasons. I tried to give Braga a second chance but I hated the show, but for a handful of them: when Andorians appear or when Andorians are in conflict with Vulcans.
But this season, we got a new man in charge and so far I like what he's done. But when I first heard about an upcoming episode that will reveal the Klingon forehead mystery, I am beginning to have doubts about Manny Coto. To me, only Braga would consider doing such an episode.
Unfortunately, I don't think they can't scrap this episode's production because the money they put into it is enormous when you look at their budget allocation for this season alone. I mean, in order to keep airing episodes on UPN, they cut their ordering price in half. IOW, what it takes to order one episode last season, UPN can order two. And last I heard they only ordered 13 episodes.
