Kulan: Knightfall's Crisis in Bluffside Game [IC]

Round 4 Begins
Inside the Shop:

After the rogue shouts out for this 'Butcher', a deadly-looking warrior soon appears on the other side of the doorway. Akos can see he is dressed in a fine chain shirt and tabard that are both stained vermillion. He wears an ornate helmet and carries a cold iron longsword one hand and a light shield in the other. The man manages to stay on his feet despite the grease spell.

"Having trouble are you?" He says calmly. His voice sounds eerily hollow.

in the other room, the two Loyalists counter vs. Tuck and Vinccenzo. Tuck is unable to avoid the sword strike aimed at him while Vinny manages to avoid the other Loyalist's blade.

Outside the Shop:
At the backdoor of the shop, the dwarven assassin suddenly stop preparing her blowgun. She hears the key opening the door. Instead she drops it to the ground and stands ready to attack anyone who comes out the door.

Falen:
The thug’s move to hit Falen surprises him. He should have focused on Tym. Falen attempts to make the thug pay for his error by shifting across the thug’s field of vision to the southeast (5’ move). It brings both the thug’s vision and body around toward Falen until the thug realizes he’s being positioned between Big Tym and Falen. It’s too late.
The attack is equal parts vicious and sublime. Even without its poison, the dagger is uncommonly effective. The thug realizes that he’s been hit deeply only because of the gush of blood. Falen winks at him, showing him the blooded blade that looks as if…it might be smiling, “ Tsk tsk. ‘Tis but a flesh wound.”

Falen winks at him, showing him the blooded blade that looks as if…it might be smiling, “ Tsk tsk. ‘Tis but a flesh wound.”
The thug looks at Falen with surprise and at his grievous wound. Then his eyes roll back and he falls to the ground. Falen isn't sure if the man is dead, but he won't be a problem anymore.

On the Street:
The dwarf watches another one of his allies fall. It seems to enrage him even more. He strikes out twice at Tim with all his strength. This time he doesn't try to punch Tim. His first axe swing goes wild, but the second manages to get by Rizvan and slice into Tim's leg. It's not a grievous wound, but it could have been worse if the dwarf hadn't been off balance.

On the other street, the halfling Elite uses his extra space to take a potino off his belt and drink it down.

In the Shop:
Tuck continues to snap his blade at the Loyalist. He manages to strike another blow, but it isn't a deep cut.

In the Shop:
Vinny stabs out at the Loyalist once again and this time the man cannot avoid the Sectarian's magical rapier. Lil' Vinny finds the man's should and the shocking grasp spell discharges into the man. Electricity runs through his torso and he flinches in pain.

"You bast-," the man loses his wind and his words but doesn't fall.

On the Street:
While the Regulars on the wall trade sword strikes, Captain Camburn swings his bastard sword at the hooded mercenary and the blade slices deep into the man's torso. The elderly Elite captain strikes again before the man can react and another cut explodes from his shoulder. The captain brings his sword around again, but the man manages to deflect the strike with his dagger.

The other Regular on the wall reloads his crossbow and fires again at the mercenary by the door. The bolt hits the man in almost the same place as before.

"Blast! Rhumyr, you fool, stop fooling around up there and take care of those guards!" He is shouting at the traitor on the wall.

Outside the Shop:
Big Tim swings his sword in a wide arc and tries to take the dwarf's head off, but the dwarf manages to dodge the big knight's sword. Tim is luckier with his second swing and slices another wound in the dwarf's torso. He tries to smash the dwarf in the face with Rizvan, but the dwarf dodges that attack too.

On the other street, Custodio swings the Warhammer of Femke Antuma and catches the female mercenary off guard. The blow isn't powerful, but the extra electricity damage makes up for grazing attack. The woman's eyes become wild with anger.

"You and your friend are such a nuisance," she spits, literally, in his face.

Custodio knows better than to mock her. He keeps his focus. He hears them coming. Two more of the thuggish rogues appear out of the door to the warehouse. They stand in the street together, raise hand crossbows, and fire.

"Sir! Look out," Custodio warns.

The elder soldier had heard them, and he deflects away the bolt headed for his head with his wooden shield. The other bolt flies over Custodio's head and hits the Regular's guard in the shoulder. The man yelps in pain; he seems to shudder in agony for a few seconds, but then it passes

Petronille swings her blade again at the doppelganger in front of her and manages to hit the shapechanger once more. She is very wounded but refuses to flee from this fight.

Akos looks behind and sees the girl is almost out, he shimmers for a moment and appears next to the girl. He shoots a blast of heated summer air toward the thugs but badly misses, being more worried about the front room and someone seeing him blasting than hitting.

Swift: anklets of translocation, teleport as far out as possible while still being behind the girl to protect her (he does not know about the assassing outside)
Standard: Eldritch chain vs thug; damage; touch attack vs butcher: 1D20+7+4 = [1]+7+4 = 12
3D6+4 = [3, 5, 4]+4 = 16
1D20+7 = [16]+7 = 23
- crit miss
Move: I'd say run out, but the girls is still here :)

Akos bumps into the washstand next to wall after his shimmer, which causes him to misjudge his footing and the direction he blasts his ray towards the two Loyalists. The ray doesn't even come close to hitting the thug that was in front of him a moment before. Instead, it just blows paper off the table by the door.

Akos moves to follow Nelie out of the candle shop as she opens the door. He doesn't see the assassin until it is too late. Falen tries to yell out a warning, but the assassin is faster. She strikes out with her blade, but once she sees it is Nelie and not the Loremaster, she only cuts the halfling woman enough to scare Nelie out of her wits.

Nelie screams. Holding her arm, she moves to go around the corner of the shop but freezes when she sees Big Tim and the dwarf in the street. Somehow she up towards Falen where she stops, throws up, and then shudders as when she sees the blood on her shoes from the dead assassin she was forced to scramble over. She throws up again.

"Poor little mouse," the dwarven assassin says. "If Phelix didn't want her around to experiment on, then I would have gutted her like a fish."

She waits for Akos to dare to step out of the shop past her. She doesn't try to block him. "You're turn," she says with blade held ready to strike. Akos dashes past her and hopes his fey heritage is enough to stop her attack. He did not have to worry. Her blade strike hits the door and not him.

"Slippery fellow," she says.

"You should have blocked the door, dwarf!" Butcher says angrily.

"I don't work for you," she replies indifferently. "I'm going to go find someone easier to kill. This is so boring."

OOC: Dusk Assassin (Dwarf) - Attack vs Nelie: 1D20+7 = [8]+7 = 15 (hit)
1D6+2 = [2]+2 = 4

@Neurotic, I'm assuming you'd move Akos past her... risking the AoO instead of remaining inside with Butcher.
Dusk Assassin (Dwarf) - AoO vs Akos: 1D20+7 = [6]+7 = 13 (miss)
1D6+2 = [6]+2 = 8
No worries. ;)
Where do you want Akos to move? I did put him as far away I could get him from the backdoor but still around his allies.

Outside the Shop:
The hooded mercenary steps away from Captain Camburn and retrieves a potino from his belt. He drinks down the potion quickly. The worst of his wounds heal.

"You're going to need a lot more of those," the captain says.

The other mercenary by the door of the candle shop performs a strategic retreat back into the warehouse just as the mercenary woman strikes out at Custodio again. Her first sword swing is clumsy and the Vanquisher cleric easily blocks her second swing.

Down the street, the guard with the halberd tries to hit the doppelganger again, but he easily avoids the weapon. Then, he slashes out at Petronille. His first swing misses but he hits her with his second. She is bleeding from several wounds and looks like she could fall at any moment.

"Ma'am, you need to retreat!" The Regular shouts at her. He turns to yell at Custodio, Zenpher, and Captain Camburn. "Miss Petronille is about to fall. She needs help!"

"Custodio, go!" Captain Camburn orders the Vanquisher cleric. "Zenpher, you're with me. We hold them back until help arrives."

Custodio knows his friends and allies are dealing with their own villains, but he can't help call out to Tim. "Tim! I hope you're going to be done with that dwarf soon! We could really use your help!"

Inside the Shop:
Tuck and Vinny hear Custodio's plea for help, but they're a little busy and are about to get busier. In the other room, the man known as Butcher orders the thug to "Go deal with those others. Leave the Loremaster to me."

"Yes sir!"

The thug moves into the front room. He takes a moment to look at the situation and then goes behind the counter, drops his blade on the counter, and readies his hand crossbow to fire.

End of Round 4

Start of Round Five
The man known as Butcher manages to not slip on the last of the grease. He calmly walks to the backdoor and steps outside. He glances to his left to see Big Tim and them looks at his dead allies on the ground. His eyes focus on Falen, then Akos. "There you are," he says. His voice is hollow in his strange helm. "No matter where you run to, little fey, I will find you."

Akos can see that the man now has a dagger in his other hand. It is also made of cold iron. Butcher ignores the Dusk assassin next to him.

Tuck had heard the name "Butcher." Tuck goes from angry to enraged! He is one of the worst Loyalists he's heard of, if it is him. Unfortunately, he can't look to check. He has to worry about the Loyalist in front of him. The man strikes out with his blade and manages to hit Tuck on the torso. The wound isn't bad, but too many more of those and Tuck will be in trouble.

The other Loyalist tries to take Vinny's head off, but the Sectarian ducks just in time. "Not good enough," he mocks the man.

OOC: @Aust Thale, you're now up for Falen.
