Leif's Homebrew 4E D&D Game, nee 'Leif's Keep on the Shadowfell' [IC #1] [FULL]

Elerosse (Eladrin Wizard)

"My apologies, Lord Paidrig, I do accept your commission to end the kobold menace. Perhaps you have a map of the area and could show us on the map how to get to the lair to the south and east?"

Lord Padraig

"Oh, good! That is most agreeable, Sir Eladrin the Wise. Map, a map, hmmm... yes! I have a map after a fashion." Here Lord Padraig digs in a nearby bureau, finds, and withdraws a large map that bears a vague resemblance to the area surrounding Winterhaven. He points, also vaguely, to an area not more than 3-4 days journey from Winterhaven, and says, "So sorry that the cartographer didn't think to mark 'kobold lair' on this map, but he had no idea that it was there! I guess, then, you're pretty much on your own?"

"There's a reason you're paying professionals good sir. We will investigate and dissuade these enemies from threatening you & the Winterdhavians, whether through words or steel." Khellek says, first looking at Aimhirghin when he mentions words, and then to Basher at steel.

Aimhirghin Maolán

The bard quirks an eyebrow and the corner of his mouth at his fierce friend's reference, but holds his silence.

Words or weapons, eh? Well, I suppose that's fair enough . . . we each have our part to play.

"Oh, I'm feeling better about this situation already! So... I suppose you'll be able to get started fairly soon?"

"Absolutely, Lord Padraig. I just need some supplies before we start a week-long trip."

"Yes that will be fine! Can I expect you to set off before this time next week, then?"

[sblock=Lou]Thanks. I was kinda hoping that it would turn out to be an intentional mispronunciation, so I could look forward to reading all sorts of snarky comments! :) [/sblock]

"Oh, I think we'll be getting started well before that, m'Lord. We come almost fully supplied - just need to 'top off the tanks,' so to speak. Besides, the longer we wait the more travelers end up dead."

Lord Padraig

"Yes, that's true of course. Well, I trust your judgment in the matter, and I'll not interfere with your conduct of the mission. If you will excuse me, I have some business that needs to be attended to at the moment. Verna, will you show the gentlemen out when they are ready to depart? And have Horace draw some water for them if they need, as they say, to 'top off their water tanks.' (Although where they store these water tanks while they travel is totally beyond me!)" This last is said to a matronly woman that you had scarcely even noticed lurking in a corner.
