Leif's Homebrew 4E D&D Game, nee 'Leif's Keep on the Shadowfell' [IC #1] [FULL]

Tarrk

Trying to calm his breath, Tarrk growls: "Bind them. They are no warriors. Not worthy to be slain!"

[sblock=OOC]
Used up my daily, but heck, that was fun :D

Tarrk will look around the camp (mostly for spoils of war / treasure). Also he will look for unusual tracks.

Aimhirghin covers the group with his bow as the rabble are bound.

"Is there aught to be gained by questioning the Gnome or the others, do you think?"

Basher7

Leaving the others to deal with the non-combatants, Basher7 begins to examine the area to determine what the arrival of his group may have interrupted.

"I'd like to know why they attacked us? I was thinking they might be here for legitimate reasons, you're good with people right? Maybe you and Tarrk could play good guard, bad guard?" Khellek suggests

The human rabble, four of them, are soon bound and rendered even more harmless. The gnome, what's left of him after Tarrk's furious assault is bound as well, and his wits seem to be returning to him ever so slowly.

The humans seem to have a good bit of reverence for this spot, where there seems to have been some sort of excavation in progress. As Aimhirghin is stalking about and pointing his bow and arrow at various things, he stumbles over ... something ... it looks like a pile of old cloth sacks, but when he kicked it, he would have sworn that he heard it grunt. The piles of sacks are the green area on the map, but they aren't as large as shown. Positions on the attached map are not right, this was a previous map, but just given as a general reference. (Hey! We can have the same file saved twice in the same thread again! :) )

Once everyone is bound Aimhirghin stops waving his bow around (as that would just look foolish, and he's not into looking any more foolish than he absolutely has to).

"Khellek, over here . . . I've found something."

He prods the sacks again with his booted foot - not too hard, though.

"What did you find? A sack? Oh I hope it's a sack of coins." Khellek proclaims excitedly, but he'll likely be disappointed as he moves next to his bardic ally.

When Aimhirghin prods the "sacks" again, another grunt issues forth, followed by a small voice, "Hey, take it easy, would you?"

With the help of Basher7 and Khellek, Aimhirghin moves the sacks aside to reveal a very disgruntled Douven Stahl. (Bonus points if you remember that name!) He rises, thanks all of his rescuers, and says, "Oh, my goodness! Look at the time! I must be getting home to the little woman. But, as a token of my appreciation, here's my amulet, just let me remove the pictures from inside it."
[sblock=Amulet]Amulet of Health +1, magical, value 680gp[/sblock]
[sblock=XP for all!]599xp for the encounter, 1,250xp for rescuing Douven Stahl, plus a bit just for giggles, so everyone gets 315 xp for the encounter. Everyone should be right about at 2nd level now, correct? (Remember you only need 1,000xp in 4E!)[/sblock]

Other Treasure

Searching the area and the bodies of the kobolds, the party finds 65gp, 13sp, and a small wooden crate which contains a very ancient-looking mirror that does not radiate magic, assuming you check, but does seem to be faily valuable. There are also the weapons of your opponents and their stuff, which consists of:

One warpick
One crossbow with 20 bolts
One dagger
One sling
