The River and Hillside

[sblock=Eldran's Ranger knowledge]Eldran has heard of such a thing before, but never actually seen one: it is possible that a portion of the river flows underground at this point.[/sblock]

Eldran Hawkshand

The Furyondian frowns as he addresses his friends. "Gentlemen, mayhap part of the river flows downwards, into a subterranean stream..."

Klaus starts looking for a flow of water out of the stream and into the hill, just like the water would normally flow into it. H watches leaves and muddy water to see if any diverts away from the 'mainstream'

The River and Hillside

Klaus can see no signs of anything out of the ordinary by looking at the surface of the water.

He thinks for a few seconds, .. .. ..
.. .. ..[sblock] smoke roiling out of his ears and grinding noises and sounds of steal breaking from rusty positions of long time unuse breaking the silence of the wilderness' silence.[/sblock]
if there was a 'leak' in the river's water flow, how would it be seen if not from the surface?

OOC: who is it flying about?

[*pending answer to ooc above as to who he directs his question to*] [to who is flying] : "Do you see any drag in he rocks pointing to the hill? or perhaps as a dry stream has rocks where it empties into another dry water way fanning out, do you see where the rocks fan in?"

OOC: Yurei, a wizard, can fly for about 10 hours a day.

At the suggestion, Yurei flies over the river to see if he can see the patterns noted.

Aerial Reconnaisance

OOC: I basically couldn't make heads nor tails of DeWar's last post about rocks 'fanning out" and such. I guess he has far superior hydrological knowledge to my own. Anyway, here's a word to the wise: "Listen to your Ranger."

Yurei, from his birdseye perspective, sees that the river seems to get smaller, but he can't see the reason for it.

The Tiefling, who's been pondering the results upon the Ranger of his experimental elixer and furiously writing in a journal he pulled from somewhere, finallly looks up from his work and wanders over. "Hmmm. Well, look at that! It seems that part of the water from this stream is diverted - likely to an underground channel or lake - beneath this hill. Say, isn't this the very hill under which that Worm made it's lair? I wonder if we could somehow explore that stream . . . let's see, I think if I . . . nope, not enough potions. Hmmm. Maybe if I . . ."

Ero squats down and starts rummaging through his pack with the enthusiastic help of his tail, muttering to himself as he tries to come up with a "practical" way for everyone to explore the underground stream.

Yurei shrugs, "Dammed if I can make sense of it. The stream definitely gets smaller, so I presume that some of the water gets diverted underground. I could probably summon up a scout of some sort. Perhaps and elemental or Mephit? Assuming somebody else doesn't have a better way for us to get in."
