Let's Hear it for Wizard in Armor!

There no such thing as a fighter/magic-user who can really cast spells in armor in 3E. A lot of people would like to see that option opened up again.

I think people object to the notion that armor somehow stops wizard spells, not to the notion that wizards are scholars who would shun hot, heavy, uncomfortable armor.
Using Core rules only:

Human Fighter 1/Wizard 3.
Armor: Breastplate
Weapon: glaive
Feats: W1 - Still Spell, Scribe Scroll (b); H - Combat Casting (b)
F 1 - Weapon Focus (glaive)
W2 - Combat Expertise
Familiar - Hawk
Spells: all spells with Somatic components are prepared as Stilled versions.

There. You can cast spells in full plate armor as soon as you can afford it.

There need be no rationalization for it. Just a passage in the PHB. "Wizards may not wear armor."
Your overwhelming wrongness makes me glad you're not the one designing the game. I can't help but one of the first things you'd do is Find "Options" and remove all references to the word.

Sorry, but my opinion cannot be wrong. It's like saying you're wrong for liking the color red. Please take your flames elsewhere.

But how is this: "Wizards by default may not wear armor; however, if you wish to play an armor wearing wizard, your dm is free to allow it if he wishes."
