Let's Speculate - Arcane Power

If they were to do a warlock today, it would likely be charisma primary with int/con as secondaries (or con primary with int/cha as secondaries). The idea of the con based warlock does make sense, in the "heavy cost of magic" sense, where you need to be tough to withstand the forces nearly beyond your control, etc. That is an approach that could really get explored more, with perhaps some future power source (shadow or elemental) being able to do a bit more with it.
"Withstanding the forces" doesn't make sense to me. I don't see it as any more physically taxing than, say, a wizard casting magic would be.

To me it's a matter of a test of wills, of resting control of the forces with your willpower. In this case, I feel that is Charisma.

If anything, the Sorcerer is the one dealing with wild, surging energies that they have to contain inside of themselves, or whathaveyou, which would lend itself to Con.

I didn't really word it very well. Ultimately, whatever future con based class (and the idea I would think behind the con based infernal pact) was the channeling of power. Since the magic of the warlock involves making a deal ... it does bring to mind some of the magic "at a cost" type tropes, like magic aging people, weakening them from use, etc. Pop culture examples like the rapid aging of Darth Sidius [the whole 'dark side corruption' concept], and Smallville had it to with human's gaining superpowers applying a lot of strain to them physically.

The Vestige pact could end up being a con based one (if they want to keep con and cha equally balanced) and it becomes less an issue of using willpower to keep control of the powerful personalities involved, but instead in the being able to survive the ammount of power funnelled into the body.

Except that "at a cost" can mean anything; it doesn't have to be physical. It could mean "You lose your soul", or "you're the butt monkey of this here devil". Or "You don't really get what you want, even if you think you do". See: Spawn, Ghost Rider, Elric, etc.

I think a hexblade build for the Swordmage would work pretty well, although I am not sure how an evil eye ability becomes an Aegis of Bad Luck.

I know they haven't done this, but this one seems easy to me: Immediate Interrupt to give the marked creature a penalty on their attack roll equal to (e.g.:) your charisma mod, which stacks with the -2 for being marked.

Personally, I hope for new paragon multiclass feats (like in MP) that give a paragon multiclasser more access to class features (wizard implement powers, spellbook, etc). My taclord/wizard paragon multiclasser is looking forward to next month!

I think the Hexblade is more appropriate to the Shadow power source. It seems like the only "Shadow Defender" that I can think of.
