Sorry, that's 30' each direction - south and up. (35^2+110^2+30^2<120^2). But like I said, 20Z works too.

In general, unless the path makes a specific difference, I just calculate the straight-line Pythagorean distance, then round down to the grid. It's a lot easier than trying to work with the gridded cube (a 24-high stack of 24x24 unit grid squares). When I have to count squares double (climbing, for instance), I just apply the corresponding multiplier in the appropriate direction.

But back to the main point - the 20Z coordinate works, so just base the following move (to 5N35E40Z) from there.

Oh, you're counting the archon's light rays as weapons, aren't you? With that in mind, since the dyll's obviously successfully saved against the archon's aura, and it's only effective SLA would force a draw, I kind of have to take the draw, since there's no point to the fight.
