British Columbia is often called "Land of the Lotus Eaters", which is a reference to Greek mythology I've always liked.
Oak Bay always reminds me of those Fantasy novels where there's a lovely town where nothing bad ever happens and everyone lives together in harmony (like that town in Dragonlance - Solace?). Of course, with Oak Bay, it's almost true... only because everyone's rich.
Beacon Hill (a park in Victoria... was once used as a horticultural site and defensive fortification for Native tribes).
I also like Fan Tan Alley, although there's really not that much "fantastic" about it.
