There are lots of silly "art pieces" throughout the tramway's line. The only one I like are the glass chairs, 'cause you can sit on them, but they're often broken by vandals...
Sometimes art can be a bit annoying. E.g., the benches at the underground station 'Dahlem-Dorf' in Berlin, which is one of the main stations at the Free University. They have some anatomically formed parts; you have the choice of some wooden boobs harrassing your head or some wooden male privates to sit on, which is not particularly comfortable :D.

You have to choose between sunny and European, you can't have both. :p ;)
Obviously not true :p. The whole Mediterranean area is sunny during the summer. That's why I suggested to go to Barcelona in spring; during summer it's a bit hot ;).

I have recieved from on-high (translate as Suzi told me :)) she'd prefer some place sunny. At least, mostly sunny.
Well... that narrows it down a little, now doesn't it?

So that pretty much leaves us with Spain, Portugal, Italy, Southern France, Greece, ... did I leave anything out? Some of the former eastern block countries have pretty nice weather too.

If you're aiming for history, I guess Italy or Greece would have to take the cake. Although really pretty much any country in Europe has enough rich history behind it you could easily lose yourself in it for three months...
