Couple questions...

1: Are there any rules for retiring characters? I'm not really happy with my first character Zenji and would like to replace him after this mission. Even worse, he's my PL 10! :/

But I like Zenji :D

Hehe, sorry. :)

Incidentally, I forgot one other character idea (I knew I was forgetting one at the time but couldn't think of it).

Bloody Mary: Mildly insane reformed-super villain looking to clean her act up and atone for her past sins. Sort of a dominatrix theme. Lots of sharp cutty things on her uniform, and she has control over her blood, attacking and strangling with sanguine tentacles. Biggest problem with this concept is getting it to mesh with the Resolutes in general... Sort of a cross between Carnage and the Punisher. I don't really think an anti-hero fits the theme, though, so I don't think this character would fly.

I don't really see how interesting the transforming motorcycle dude would be to play, but it's a concept I've had stuck in my head and wanted to run ever since... Actually, since the first time I saw BESM back in high school (early 2000s). Ghost is similar, though more recent and would probably be more interesting to play just because I have more of a picture what his personality would be like. I think I could have a lot of fun with Phoenix, too, playing her sort of like an over-zealous Paladin, an elemental form of good and righteousness not temepered by any sort of fear.

I've just been browsing through the book, actually, and I think I will go ahead and make Phoenix into my new PL 10 after I retire Zenji. Going to give her healing with ressurection and the empathic flaw, so she can sacrifice herself to save someone who's died... and then be reborn shortly thereafter.

I don't remember we had voted on one. I'll take a look on all teh threads and see if we have something, but you can always do a proposal. Personally, I think something like keeping half the gain PP for your new characater would make sense. The new character should have the same base starting PL... that's just an idea, we will need to speak about ti if we didn't have decided it yet.
I would argue that the drop in points should be pretty minimal, because in our games most points are gained for time served. In LEW, as long as the game has any action, more than half of your points come from experience. Maybe we could just drop the points for game related goals such as stopping the villain from destroying the world and RP bonuses. I'd like someone who isn't a judge to put up the proposal.

PS: I like Zenji too. He's got personality. :D

Wow, I didn't realize that there were so many Zenji fans.

Maybe I could re-work him as my PL 8 character? Would make sense, since he's supposed to be wet behind the ears, and I wouldn't be stuck "wasting" my more powerful slot on a character I didn't care much for.

Incidentally, whether the extra points are lost or kept makes no difference to me... Honestly I just sort of assumed that any new character I made would have to start at 150 PP.

Transforming motorcycle dude: Need to come up with a name for him. Basically a guy with a motorcycle that turns into a battlesuit. Probably just a white guy, maybe modeled after Zero Cool from Hackers.

Like Scott Bernard/Stick Bernard from Robotech/Mospeada. Awesome!

Frankly, you're unlikely to think of a character concept that hasn't been done in some way here already. Your choices are either A) put a slightly different spin on something that has been done already (example: Storm vs Captain Marvel - both weather-themed lightning-tossers, but one is an Energy/Element Controller and one is a Paragon), or B) do something that has been done already and just try to time things so that you don't wind up in a mission with a too-similar existing character.

That's is call a classic, and there is a reason why they are classic.

Velmont, I meant "existing" in the context of The Resolutes specifically.

A given player would have to try very, very, VERY hard to come up with a superhero idea that wasn't a pastiche of an existing character in fiction. :D

A question because I am too lazy to search.

I have finaly writen up my idea for an adventure, was it decided that proposals should go to all the judges with a specific subject line so they can avoid reading it if they are potential players or should I be allowing judges in the ready room to opt out of receiving the proposal?
