Looking for Epic Level Adventures.

Hello everyone. I'm not sure if im in the right forum, but I'll ask anyway.

I'm going to be running an Epic Level Campaign soon, but I just can't seem to come up with a viable adventure. Everything I make seems to break down in my mind a day or two later. I'm exhausted and now simply looking for any pre-made Epic adventures (specifically starting at level 21 or so). If anyone knows of any, please let me know.

I'd greatly appreciate it. :)

Well, there is also DCC#33 'Belly of the Great Beast' from Goodman Games for Level 21-24. However if you don't already have it, you're probably out of luck, since it's no longer available. :(

Is there any particular reason why you want to start an epic campaign in 3E? I thought the general consensus was that epic level gameplay pretty much sucks. Have you ever tried playing at those levels before?

For all of its flaws, I've come to like 3.x more than 4E, even its epic play. I've played an epic campaign before (DM'ed it actually), but that was when I had time to crunch the numbers. Now, I don't, as I'm busy with college, work, ect. I actually like the Epic Levels in 3.x, as they provide a great deal of entertainment, and my players generally agree. For us, customization reigns supreme and superhero badassery is occasionally a nice diversion. :)

We're moving into the same territory. I don't know how epic levels will turn out.

One thing I've been doing is swiping the stat blocks from the uniques (lords, etc.) in Fiendish Codex I and II. There are a few solid Level 21-27 encounters in there.

best,

Carpe

You might want to check out the Elder Evils by robert schwalb. it has some interesting campaign plots along with a few interesting epic foes (like a world born dead or a godslaying beast from far realm).

It seems like there really just isn't much out there at all to support Epic play.

I wonder if it would be helpful if everyone interested in it pooled efforts into making some sort of online repository of adventures created at home for EPIC play. It probably would not take long for such a repository to exceed the number of Epic adventures already published.

Included with adventures could be information about how best to run an Epic game. Now I'm feeling inspired...

There was a thread floating around here about the problems with Union (that epic city), but it does also highlight an issue with epic campaigns. It is not simply about inflated stats and uber monsters. The trick is letting your players feel epic, while battling foes who are still much stronger than them.

I don't think any of us have problems with churning out cr21+ foes to throw at our parties. The real issue is coming up with plots and stringing the events together, while dealing with the sheer amount of resources high lv spellcasters can access.

That said, I am all for tips on running epic campaigns.:)

i've played a few epic modules and i must say that most of them i didn't like at all. it was mostly the same as any other game but we had bloated charsheets and had to battle megademons and demigods. it was kinda crpg'ish and got old fast.
although one epic game i liked a lot. it was more focused on roleplay and actually FELT epic. i was a legendary dwarven king and other guys were also powerful and meaningful global figures, like a demon prince or old god's avatar. of course we had to battle megademons (and each other) a few times but what i enjoyed most was actually roleplaying a king. making alliances, moving armies, inspiring regular soldiers and leading the attacks. when i crossed my blades with a demon prince in the midst of the battlefield with both dwarven and drow armies staring at our epic battle in awe it was one of the most exciting moments in my gaming experience.
what i mean to say is that you won't make players feel that their characters hit epic levels just by increasing their opponents' CR to 25+. you have to actually make PCs kings, saints, demigods, legendary archmages. this is what epic is about.
