Hmm.. ..seems non-clerical archers have become more popular recently.. :)

Because a vanilla bonus to BAB and damage that has to be prepared in advance and can be dispelled at any time is boring. The archer PrCs can kill more things in much more dramatic ways, and they don't have the magical achilles heel. Really, a cleric is no more an archer than a wizard with Polymorph Self is a troll.

Oh Dear God... not again... not again...

Yet a man with a keyboard and a grudge can be...

;)

Don't believe anyone mentioned Deflect Ranged Attack, which is also in Dragon issue 274

also, if you get access to psionic powers you could get Psionic Shot, Fell Shot and Return Shot.

Wasp Bounty Hunter, Rokugan campaign book.

Sneakily powerful archers. Not as flashy as DWS or OoBI, but at 10th level they can "take 20" as a full round action with a ranged attack and do bonus damage of 1d10 within the first range increment of the weapon.

Actually Archers have a big magical achilles heel. They have a very hard time getting through DR. Not to mention any lowly wizard with Protection from Arrows cast.

That being said Archer classes are still very powerful.

I don't think anyone has yet mentioned Monte's feats applicable to archers: Ranged Expertise, Eschew Bow, and Catch and Fire. Check the "Stuff" archives at www.montecook.com.

And off course there is the Peerles Archer with Power Attack..................but hey we're not going up that ol'discussion road again...........
