that would be cool.

Love that show! I even watch the encore, but still have no clue as to what the hell is going on???

I watch it, but have ups and downs about my opinion of it. I think this week will be interesting at least. I am curious as to what will come of it, though if I meta show (kinda like meta gaming) nothing will becuase they want to keep the show on TV.

Okay Locke is my favorite character. He seems to be the only person on the island who is thinking more than 15 minutes ahead of time.

And if a wussy Wargammer is like that, imagine what an uber RPGer would be like. They would have plumbing, high speed internet and 2 planes that have already flown to the main land and back.

Well show is half over.

Wow was this episode predictible. Nice to know we have a "who done it" I was wondering how long it would take them do it. The show has it ups and downs. The caves are only about a mile from the beach. t should be easy to be both the same day.

Good episode, but not great... was slightly let down. Took me a little while to reflect on why, and here's my take.

The other flash back stories all kept or created as much mystery as they revealed. Charlies was pretty much just a straight story, and even felt a little contrived, or forced too much into his flashbacks. It would have been better if things were more subtly suggested, than explicitly shown and explained shot by shot. There wasn't any twist or intrigue with Charlies story either, but maybe that's intentional.

Secondly the cave collapse was jarringly unrealistic, at least in the manner of them digging Jack out. It looked and felt more like a soap opera scene than cinematic. The silly little tunnel they cleared didn't make sense visually. I mean where did those rocks fall from to fill it up the second time, not to mention the first? Then they just keep grabbing and clearing them from the same spot, not going in deeper.

The episoded felt more forced and literal than the others, and lacked the mysterious edge. (Besides who was swinging the stick, but the preview for next weeks episode didn't seem to mention or hint at this.)

Perhaps I'm being too critical, but it's only because I like the show and have high hopes for it.
:D

The change of pace was good.

Charlie's fairly straightforward story plays well off the other characters. It sets him up to be normal compared to all the mystery and craziness of people like Jack, Kate & Locke. This was by no means a subtle episode with all the moth images and general themes. Charlie has been born anew. This was truly the first character change and growth we have seen so far. Every other character has been who they were or wanted to be before the crash. Not the case with Charlie. He was just some guy hooked on drugs. Now he has made a change and found a friend or two.

Quite a contrast from a wrecked life with no future.

Not a great ep, but a good one.

Well, I liked it fine. Every episode doesn't have to be unrelenting mystery, or else it wears thin. The X-files fell prey to that concept, eventually bordering on self-parody. Charley is an interesting character, and while we didn't have dramatic revelations about him, we got the gaps filled in, and found him even more sympathetic.

As for the distance from beach to cave, it's still a mile through untamed jungle. We have no way of judging, but from what we've seen, the terrain is uneven once you get a certain distance from the beach. There are plenty of dangers in the jungle that you risk when travelling through it too quickly.

Poor Sayed....he's trying so hard, and he's working with IDIOTS. I consider Sawyer to be something of the boogeyman, here. His personal pride is such that he refuses to be helpful unless it's entirely on his terms...and it keeps biting him on the butt. Next episode, it looks like it will do more than that. Sawyer is clearly an ass, but he hasn't actually done anything that wrong. I find that blonde bimbo to be far more irritating and dangerous to their survival than Sawyer....but previews from next week seem to indicate that he'll cross that line more than a little.

Locke has now officially become, in my mind, the Shaman. He is the voice of the island. He has talked with it, made peace with it and speaks for it. I suspect that when something happens to Locke, the island's wrath (i.e. the monster) will return.

All of the characters, the major ones, are redefining themselves. It's a fun journey, and I'm really looking forward to where it leads.

well I though it was a pretty good episode. I really do like Locke's wise mentor sort of vibe it's cool. especially considering his "past life"

for some reason the "relationship" with Kate and Charlie is getting on my nerves just slightly... oh he's trapped lets forget our chance at leaving the island to go rescue him... not like it made a difference with someone nailing sayid. any theories on who did that?
