new theoiry...what if this is one of the double, triple...whatever blind tests. You start off with people thinking they are being tested for something but in reality its something else. But the people that set that up are actually part of the test and don't know it and it sort of goes like that till everyone on the island is part of the test and now they are just bringing in ne wpeople to see what happens.

So, the chanlneling of Kate's father, is that why people think they are dead? I've heard this theory and someone off the boards said this episode really made them think that.
A lot of people put forth the ideas that they are dead or in purgatory or the like. I have seen it stated over and over that the producers already have said this is not the case.

I think Sawyer said something to trigger Kate and Kate called him Wayne and he responded because that is his real name, this made her think he was channeling her father.

Sawyer's real name is James, it was revealed in the first season. I forget which episode though, I think it was his second flashback.

Has anyone considered that the writers are just making it all up as they go along? And are REALLY good at it?

THat's what I've been saying for a while, but they aren't really good at it

I'm starting to believe this a little, which makes me fear for the show. (X-Files, anyone?)

Still, I love Lost. No other show has made me say "Son of a . . ." as many times, as in:

"Wait, is that supposed to be Walt on the computer?!??! Son of a . . ."

Nope. At least as far as they claim, shall we say. They have a general plot laid out (very probably with contingencies for things like Jack's actor going insane and suddenly saying 'I want $1 million an episode') of where they want to end up and how they want to get there. Plans change, of course, as new ideas come up - I've read about it in other shows, where they'll say 'we wanted to explore this plotline some more'.

I'm making a wild guess and thinking that Walt has managed to make his way to a computer terminal in the central facility/wherever the broadcast is being made from.

I'm thinking not likely, at least not based on what's showing up on that Hanso Foundation website.
