Because (s)he is the stereotypical aging loser in the basement of the parents' house and really doesn't have anything better to do than "win" at the internet?

Actually, I'd guess it was someone that doesn't care about either edition and just wants to cause trouble.

Or one of those rare and dangerous folk who prefer earlier editions...you never can trust those types! ;)

Or a script kiddy loser who is whining over his/her game not being the favorite. (Given the level of maturity, I would guess that his/her real favorite game is F.A.T.A.L.. :p) Either that, or someone wanted to make sure that the poll lost any semblance of meaning.

Losers come in all age brackets. And this one is a 1000 point winner loser.

The Auld Grump, who was enjoying the comparison between polls, until the yackarse showed up.

I voted "like it".

Pre-Paizo it was "Love it". Im happy so far with what Paizo did with it. My sacred cows are still safely tucked into my Barn and they dont turd as much with streamlined rules.

Only problem I saw with 3E/3.5 was too much splat and class variants with new rules overcomplicating as well as unbalancing things at times. TBH, I expected this to happen from WotC.

The 3E/3.5 rules were fine for my group. They may have been somewhat complex at times, but it was so easy to cater to any style of game.

I love certain parts of it, but - possibly because of 3e DM burn out - I dislike the system now; in fact thinking of DMing it makes me feel a little ill.

However I would play at the drop of a hat - any version of DND actually.

THIS.

I would love to play a 3e (or Pathfinder) game but I'm not willing to DM anything other than a E6/E8 game.

I checked "mixed bag." 3.x was a tremendous improvement over the quite outdated 1e/2e mechanics, and I really enjoyed playing at levels 3-8. Of course, OGL produced a lot of junk, but there was some very good material as well that much more accessible because of the familiar d20 base.

But DM prep time could be nightmarish and - at high levels - it would take my PCs 30-45 minutes to organize all the buff spells that they cast before battle. Also, while it was tremendously flexible in theory, many of the choices were "false choices" that may have accurately simulated an idea, but left the player with a character that was too weak to participate in the game. Furthermore, in my experience it required a grid to play complicated battles, but it still left the players with comparatively few interesting choices that related to the grid, mostly because "stand still and hack away" was such a dominant strategy.

That is pretty much my opinion as well. D&D got substantially improved with every edition and 3rd is actually a decent game.
