[LPF] Into the Wilds Part 1

Regar's cursing would have seared Kepli's ears if she hadn't grown up near Venza's docks and heard much worse, though certainly less inventive, cursing from the dockworkers there. She turned from her examination of the downed ogre back to the battle occurring with the goblins. The dwarves were chopping away, Maenor and Regar were tossing magic, and Caius hadn't yet made his move. She would only get in the way if she moved up into the fight but she shifted to the side trying for a clear line of sight. When she thought she had one she intoned words to draw the attention of the spirits of this place, made supplication to them, and offered a gift to them of a piece of wool.

"Cloud the minds of mine enemies," she murmured.

Scuttle shrieked and took to the skies to circle above the battle.

Snorri charged over the dead goblin, but missed with his own swing. Brog did not fare well, either, with his attack missing even wider than did Snorri's. Maenor hit the lead goblin full on the chest with a small ball of acid, and the creature clutches at his tunic and starts screaming in pain. Regar misses with his own ranged magic, though it does buzz uncomfortably passed the ear of the third goblin. This same goblin suddenly is affected by Kepli's spell and attempts to shake off its effects.

Caius, knowing he cannot possibly get a clear shot from this angle, shoulders his bow and retrieves his scythe as he steps toward the stairway. As he moves, he shouts, "How many are there? Draw them back to us!"

I'll have to jump back into the narrative properly as we regain momentum over the next couple of days.

Please correct me if any of the following is incorrect. We've got a 10'-wide staircase with a pit partway up the steps. Brog and Snorri block the path into the room above and they are engaging three goblins. Maenor and Regar stand below, tossing acid in that direction. Kepli dazed a creeper. I would think that Caius wants to gain some tactical advantage but has no real intel.[/sblock]

Snorri takes care of the last goblin, nearly cleaving him in twain. The area is now clear of everything except the corpses of your foes. Now you can see that the ogre sent against you was that of a dead ogre corpse strapped on a frame, lit on fire and pushed at you while tied to some ceiling rails. There is a set of stairs carved into the stone and leading west and upwards. There seems to be a second, attached chamber to the north.
