lycanthrope alignments?

Actually I'm really not sure where the lawful good werebear came from 2e Werebears were Chaotic Good and I'd also peg Beorn as being of that alignment.

Apparently somewhere in between 2e and 3e all werebears were kidnapped and brainwashed by a bunch of renegade Harmonium Paladins.

Hahaha! My evil plot finally discovered! And now its too late to stop it!!!

...unless you do that whole Rule 0 thing...;)
 

Also, the SRD / MM mentions that the alignment rules for natural lycanthropes (and the alignment change for inflicted lycanthropes) are just suggestions, and that the DM should feel free to change them at will.

In certain shaman traditions (like those of the Ainu of Japan) the Bear is a healing protective totem - maybe thats were the alignment came from.
