Lycanthrope racial classes from #313, anyone tried?

Anyone tried the Lycanthrope/Were-creature racial classes from #313?

The main problem with them, as Sean K. Reynolds pointed out (in comparison to his own werecreature template classes from the old Savage Progressions column on the Wizards of the Coast site) is that they don't produce a by-the-book lycanthrope out of the Monster Manual - they're more of a redesign.
