Eanos

Eanos decides to play his bodyguard part with a little less tact. Even if he doesn't succeed in getting information, he figures Rinaldo telling him his place might provide the merchant some small bit of extra influence as he and the mayor bond over the difficulty of 'finding good help.'

"Just south of the Inn? Don't tell me good old honest-lookin' Abraham run the last tenant out of business. Hate to find out the only Inn 'round town's got a shady past." He pauses, lifting an eyebrow. "It ain't got a past, does it?"

Tenebrynn & Ashnar: I'll move you to Tennebrynn's thread, which I'll rename.

Orsal & Mordik - you still around?

Rinaldo & Eanos: Arness decends from her throne and approaches the duo. She holds out her hand for Rinaldo to shake. "I'm very pleased you're considering Three Rings for your new shop. I think you'll find it a good business environment. Feel free to contact us again if you need anything further."

She cocks her head at Eanos' comment. "Abraham. His Inn has stood for a long time. No one else has started an Inn around here for a long time. Do you have any reason to suspect Abraham is involved in anything shady? Perhaps you'd want to start an inn yourselves?"

"If we can get that information, certainly. Can you tell me a bit more about the people and location? I prefer to be at least a bit prepared."

Eanos lowers his head as if chastised. The line between lying and carefully-presented truth is a thin one, but he continues to walk it. "Sorry, ma'am. Locals got nothing but good things to say about him, ma'am. I gotta watch my mouth sometimes; gets me into trouble crackin' wise when there ain't no call to."

"Sorry for my guard. I didn't hired him for his social manners." says Rinaldo "So you can introduce me to some people in Monemvassia. That will be fine. But first, I'll need to find more fund. I think I'll go back see the Prince in the next days, once I have taken care of some adminstrative problem that linger for too long. It will be good for the safety of my goods on the raods of the country.

Now, I'll need to solve the sea trade route. By any chance, do you know someone who could intriduce to the amiral or his surrounding. Or maybe there is another person that could help to raise the fund I need and have some influence on the sea?"

"Ok lets see what I can rememeber. Yesterday I went to the castle ostensibly as a buyer of information for the Orussus Library. I was escorted into a foyer by one of the guards and forced to wait about 2 hours. Then a 30 something brown haired woman wearing the robes of a wizard entered. I remember seeing her with a town guard the previous evening at the inn. Her name is Armax and she is my contact for access to the mayor's library. She also said that she could get me audience with Arness or Phillip if necessary. In the end I accepted the proposal to peruse the mayor's library with the intention of purchasing a few volumes for Orussus. As a downpayment Armax wanted 100gp towards the purchases. I left a little later offering to come back in the morning with the money." replies Tenebrynn.

Sorry, Erekose, I've been meaning to restart your thread, but haven't gotten around to it.

To Rinaldo, Arness the mayor, smiles, almost purring. "The Admiral. I'm sure you can find someone in Monemvassia to introduce you to him. Other than the Monemvassian Navy, there are no other power brokers in the waters, unless you can barter with pirates or sahaugins!"

"As for seeing the Prince. He leaves all administrative details to me. He won't want to be bothered by the details of your business. He would be interested in your animals, though, I'm sure. I suggest you inspect the abandoned house. Whether you build or repair, you will find several skilled workers in Three Rings that could assist you. Good day, Master DiSenzio."

Eanos

Eanos takes the chastisement in stride, letting Rinaldo finish the negotiations. When the merchant looks half-expectantly, Eanos merely bows his head in feigned embarrassment, ostensibly having learned his place.

"Thank you for your advice. I would like to meet you again to speak about the details. Maybe over a plate. A good meal always make negotiation more interesting. Do you think it would be possible to meet each other tomorrow for the dinner?"
