ooc: gah! I should have thought that I might need to put money where my mouth is to appear as a book buyer... I'll have to try and bum some from one of the other characters.

"Then I shall return tomorrow morning and present you with the 100 coins prior to accessing your library. Further to that, will it be at all possible to see the Prince as well? As I am told that he has the largest private collection in the area." replies Tenebrynn.

 

[Manzanita]

"Yes. He has many books. I go out there occationally to consult them. I can take you out there as well. Goodbye, then, Mr. Glimmersight."

Armax rises and offers the elf her hand. She then leaves, and the guard escorts him back outside (unless he would like to do or say more...)

It is about lunchtime now.

For what its worth, this adventure depends upon your initiative. No one is going to attack you. At least not until/unless you are percieved as a threat. Take some chances. Feel free to ask me to advance time to the evening or night or whatever

Thursday morning

Tenebrynn and Ashnar wait about an hour after Rinaldo and Eanos leave, then set out for the castle themselves. Tenebrynn recognizes the guards at the gate, and the let him in to wait in the same reception roomas before. Soon Armax appears, dressed as before, though in a new dress.

"Ah, Tenebrynn. Welcome back. You've brought a visitor?"

 

[Erekose13]

"Good morning Armax, it is a pleasure to see you again. Yes indeed, this is my colleague Ashnar from Orussus. We met this morning at the inn, its rather fortunate that he was in the area as well. We were wondering if he might join me in the search. He is prepared to accept the same terms that you have given me and we will increase our deposit to 200 coin if you wish." replies Tenebrynn taking the lead as he feels it appropriate.

 

[Manzanita]

Armax smiles as she takes the money. She counts it carefully, then slides it into a pouch on her belt. She then leads the duo out a side door, through a short hallway, and into the library. A guard outside steps in with the wizards. "OK. Have a look at what we've got. I'll be back to check on you in a few hours. The chainmailed human guard stays in the room with them.

Ashnar can pick up his two new spells and add them to his spellbook if he spends the day here. Tenebrynn finds the collection rather insignificant compared to Orussus. There is some history of the town, of the victory over the dragon hundreds of years ago that led to the founding of Monemvassia and Three Rings. There are some records of harvest, weather and the stars. Some spells scattered in books of arcane lore. Also some on anatomy, seige warfare, weaponsmithing, and poison.
