Magic Earrings?

So, after reading through quite a bit of the Magic Item Compendium I've noticed there are no magic earrings listed anywhere. Now considering all the artwork you see for D&D with characters having more earrings than a jewelry counter, you would think there would be some.

Not only are there no magic earrings, but there's no clear indication of where you would add them to the magic item slot limits. Would it go under Face with the goggles, masks, and lenses? Would it go under the Head group with hats, circlets, helmets, etc.? Or would it get lumped in with the ever increasing group of Throat items? Maybe they would classify as Rings?

I am wondering how people would interpret this.

...that's the issue: You *really* don't want to make another slot. Really.

I'd call it "head" and move on. Or potentially "slotless".

I've had characters who carried minor slotless items as earrings or charm bracelets. Generally these were high level characters who could afford to pay double for items like +5 to listen, or certain low level spells (0th, 1st) at will.

ear.. RING... could easily fill the ring slot -.-

There was a Pirate Prc in 3.0 (I believe it was from the Netbook of Classes) that gained a class ability to wear a third ring in their ear.

I would allow rings to be worn in the ear for flavor purposes, but I would still limt the wearer to maximum of two functioning rings at a time.
