Manyshot & True Strike

How would using quickened True Strike lower his BaB?

Because he'd need to be able to cast 5th-level Sor / Wiz spells somehow, which usually means being a Wizard 9 in addition to his martial side, which means he's lost at least a couple of points of BAB vs. a straight fighter of the same CL.

Spell Storing, hurrah!

Isn't there a bow that gives the user True Strike? You still activate it every other round, so again you'd be firing Manyshot off every other round. 1 round to active True Strike on the bow, one round to fire.

try psionics

take the fell shot feat in the psionics handbook, and psionic meditation to get your focus back each round, to make a ranged touch manyshot attack each round, nice. even works for characters without psionic classes by using the wild talent feat.

Yes, in Sword and Fist. 3.0 splat book.

Wouldn't Sudden Quicken also work? Eventhough it's a ton of requirements, you don't have to keep taking levels in Wiz.

I think the ton of requirements--most of which would be useless ("I sudden maximize my single magic missile!" "Oh, have mercy! Don't deal another five points of damage to me. Don't throw me in the briar patch!") are enough to keep this from being useful and even if you're willing to live with them, Sudden Quicken only works a few times per day.

In any case, look at the opportunity cost:

A fighter archer will want:

Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization, Manyshot, Improved Rapid Shot, Greater Weapon Focus, Improved Critical, Greater Weapon Specialization, and Improved Precise Shot by level 12.

That's enough that a non-human fighter only has one feat left over and even a human fighter only has two other feats by then.

A non-fighter archer will cut that down a bit and probably have:
Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Manyshot, Improved Rapid Shot, Improved Critical, Improved Precise Shot

That's every feat until 12th level except for one for a non-human ranger. A human ranger only has two free feats. Nonrangers have to give up at least one of those feats, even if they're human.

In short, taking more than one sudden metamagic feat is likely to make the character a worse archer.

I thought that was reprinted in a 3.5 book (non-core).
Possibly a 3rd party book, but I'm pretty sure it's not in any WotC book. I could be wrong, since I haven't spent much time with the Races of ____ books.
