Matrix - a new theory?

Ok I hope I can convey these complicated ideas to you all.. but here's my current thoughts on the matrix plot:

The oracle and the architect are foes. Both have different ideas on what should happen in the matrix. The Oracle tells Neo to go to "The source"... which implies she wants neo to reboot the matrix - assuming we are correct and that IS what happens there. She never mentions the Architect at all. Now lets assume that in fact, the architect has never been there before. In this version of the matrix, he decided to directly intervene to get the outcome he wants. At first it leads you to assume that he wants neo to follow the path of the one, but in fact, he is Egging neo the other way. Why else show him that trinity is in the matrix? All his blustering about "Hope is your greatest fault" - is just to convince neo he isnt stepping right into his hands.
I think the Architect wants neo to Re-enter the matrix, so that the current matrix plot would carry itself out to the endgame. essentially, if neo doesnt join the source, the matrix never reboots - Smith populates the entire machine battery system, and the sentinels destroy zion. If The Oracle had her way, neo would reboot the system, the system would continue exactly as it has in previous editions, There would be a future. "I'm only interested in one thing: the future." didnt she say something about making it through this together?

I think she's as surprised as anyone that neo didnt enter the door. Further, I think the merovingian holds neo to ensure that smith takes over the entire machine battery network.. I think he's not on the side of the architect, I think he believes he will survive the power shutdown. (possibly using neo?)
anyway, what do you think? I'm quite certain about the architect manipulating neo to do exactly what he did.

Further thoughts..

To clear up a few things: when I say foes, I mean in the intellectual sense. I think they are like scientists who have differing theories on how to save the world. The oracle believes in the matrix, believes that Neo will choose subconsciously to sacrifice himself instead of saving trinity, which is probably true. But the architect believes that the humans should be destroyed, and only the machines are needed for the future. so he Makes neo Aware consciously of the choice he is making.. "Oh, your going to the source, huh? well just so you know, trinity dies." What neo isnt told is that if he goes to the source, trinity never dies.. she is rebooted, right?

Interesting thoughts. I distinctly remember the "Interested in the future" stuff.

I think there are other questions to be answered along the lines of "why" but your idea is intriguing.

No, if Neo hadn't left she would have died.

Zion was going to be destroyed no matter what Neo did, his choice was to save the humans still hooked up or let them dies. He was to go into the source, which he didn't do, reboot the Matrix and select 23 people to establish a new Zion. Trinity already be free of the Matrix was screwed no matter what.

not if there have been 6 other matrix versions, with 6 other neos and trinities.
6 other permutations of the exact same world would indicate that the entire system, including the lives of those "Killed" are rebooted. Cloned, in effect. Neo and the others are clones.

ugh, the "C" word.

I don't know about cloned, but it's not like they were born naturally...

We saw the baby-pods being harvested in the first movie, after all.

I got the feeling this was in vitro fertilization, maybe using the pods as artificial wombs. But the stock the baby comes from is still good ol' fashioned machine-assisted lovin'.
