Ok, I'm not sure exactly where this knowledge came from, which book I've read,
but I believe what we're seeing with the Architect and the Oracle is similar to what a certain branch of Gnosticism espouses.. that the universe was created by a divine being named "Sophia".. sophia created the universe, and also created a being called "The Demiurge". The demiurge was to be the representation of the council of elder gods power on earth, and was practically omnipotent. but the problem is, the demiurge lost his identity.. he came to believe he was the creator of the universe, and so was remaking it in his image in defiance of his creator (s)...
