Maximized Dispel?

If I remember correctly, Maximize Spell feat in 3.0 specifically disallowed using it on dispel magic. But I can't find any specific 3.5 prohibition on using MS with dispel magic. So has it changed? Can you use MS for the dispel roll? The spell itself does not call this roll an opposed roll -- merely a roll to hit a DC.

No. It's still an opposed roll, but the opposing spell is effectively taking 11.
Really? Can you point me to where it says this in the SRD?

Note that I won't allow a maximized dispel magic anyway, but I'm curious about this.

Interesting.

The 3.5 SRD:
MAXIMIZE SPELL [METAMAGIC]
Benefit: All variable, numeric effects of a spell modified by this feat are maximized. Saving throws and opposed rolls are not affected, nor are spells without random variables. A maximized spell uses up a spell slot three levels higher than the spell’s actual level.
An empowered, maximized spell gains the separate benefits of each feat: the maximum result plus one-half the normally rolled result.

Dispel Magic
You can use dispel magic to end ongoing spells that have been cast on a creature or object, to temporarily suppress the magical abilities of a magic item, to end ongoing spells (or at least their effects) within an area, or to counter another spellcaster’s spell. A dispelled spell ends as if its duration had expired. Some spells, as detailed in their descriptions, can’t be defeated by dispel magic. Dispel magic can dispel (but not counter) spell-like effects just as it does spells.

Targeted Dispel: One object, creature, or spell is the target of the dispel magic spell. You make a dispel check (1d20 + your caster level, maximum +10) against the spell or against each ongoing spell currently in effect on the object or creature. The DC for this dispel check is 11 + the spell’s caster level. If you succeed on a particular check, that spell is dispelled; if you fail, that spell remains in effect.

That said, I would allow someone to use Maximize or Empower on dispel magic. The only thing affected would be the 1d4 rounds of suppression on a magic item, though.
